Novolog,  Levemir,  Flonase,  and some type of allergy medicine that I can't ever spell!

ABOUT ME:

Hello, I am 18, and was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes in April, 2009. I will be starting my first year of college this fall, in the hope of becoming an art teacher. I am a little nervous about the whole food situation while I am in college, since I want to try a pump in the near future. I have, well, interesting parents (I can't get them to even try to eat the healthy foods I do), but a very supportive aunt and uncle. My grandfather, almost all of my 24 great aunts and uncles, and my great grandmother, had Diabetes (all on my mom's side; all of them have died due to the many complications of the latter). I am the youngest one in my family to have been diagnosed. As my aunt says, it's just a ticking time bomb until the rest of [us] are diagnosed, lol. My dad's side of the family does not have a history of the disease, although most of them are at a VERY unhealthy weight, if you know what I mean! I hope that neither my sister nor my brother will be diagnosed with it, although it would be nice to have someone in my family who understands what I have to deal with.
