Chronic Pain Relief for my Neuropathy

ABOUT ME:

Been through a lot. Many surgeries, for many body parts. I now suffer chronic severe pain for 3 different types of Neuropathy in both feet and both shins, both hands and all fingers as well as having to deal with ED. My diabetes was poorly controlled for about 10 years and the Pancreas issues didn't help any either. Blood sugar soared between 50 and 600 on what I believe was a frequent basis given what I know now, and what I go through now. Even with good regulation through medication, I still see sugar go between 50 and 550 on bad days. I hate those. I was drug free for over 7 years since my last [successful] back surgery until my Neuropathy suddenly and viciously attacked my feet and shins about 2 years ago. Since then, it's been a real and excruciatingly painful living hell. I recently went on disability because it had become so bad. I take whatever meds I need for that, but I don't see it getting any better... at my age. I have good days, I have bad days. I have good mornings, I have bad mornings. The pain meds certainly don't completely control the pain. I continue to have severe pain levels despite the meds. Sometimes the pain is continuous, sometimes it comes in waves, sometimes it comes every few hours. Just no predicting it. I try to deal with it by leveling off. That is: I take what my doc says I can. If I can get away with not taking that extra pain pill one day, I save it for that rainy day when I am in tears. I force myself to maintain a normal daily schedule. e.g. Get up each day at 6 (if the pain hasn't done that for me already), Hygiene, Dress, Get my son out the door for school and the wife out for work. Eat breakfast and do Meds. Take care of my 2 Pets, my Dog Rocky and my Kitty Tinker. Then I can relax with my coffee and check mail, blogs, etc. That time usually gives me a little bit of an idea which way the day is going to go pain-wise during those first 2 hours. I like the usual things. Music, TV, Playing Board games with my son, etc. I follow politics closely and I am currently reading about the founders of this nation after finishing my reading of the Constitution and it's Amendments along with the Declaration of Independence and my Bill of Rights. Ok - I've said entirely to much here. Regards...
