Hanging In There, With Difficulty

Hello To All:
It has been some time since I have visited these pages,
and I have much catching up to do.
First off, I have been smoke free for 6 months, and 9 days!
Except for an occasional craving, easily overcome, it has
been a pleasant trip, and I am glad I began it. I used the
Commit Lozenges, and for me, they worked just fine.
Of course, I had to make a firm commitment to follow...

My Quit Journey

It has been 5 months, 4 days, 4 hours, and 11 minutes since I have
had a cigarette, as of this post.
It has been awhile since I have posted anything here, but I have
been visiting the site almost daily, just to keep up. I have RA, and
typing has been difficult. My fingers are getting to the point, where
typing is becomming a painful chore. Not too bad today though.
   The COPD seems to...

Two Months Smoke Free

I have been off the cigarettes for two months now!
Here are some of the benefits I've noticed:
I am not as tired during the day anymore,
I am coughing a lot less now,
I am able to climb stairs, and not get totally SOB,
My sense of taste and smell are getting better
on a daily basis.
My appetite has returned; time to watch those extra calories.
I have more ambition.
I am saving the $7.75 that I spent on cigarettes in a...

One month smoke free

One month Smoke Free. I think I have found out why I had difficulty
with all my other attempts to quit smoking. I never really drew up a plan
for quitting. I just winged it. Oh! I read the literature and took the
Patch, or Gum, or whatever, but I had no real plan.
This time, I wrote everything down; reasons for quitting, who to call,
coming on this site, and concentrating on my main...

Still Quiting

I am back. I have been off-line since Tuesday.
But now all is fixed.
  22 Days smoke free.
The cravings come and go, but nothing that a walk
around the neighborhood can't fix. I actually wish
it was more difficult for me! I have to watch out for
an attitude of " I've go this thing licked." That was
a problem the last time I tried to quit.
I've convinced myself that I have to stay...

17 Days and Counting

I stopped smoking on 3 October 2009, and so far, I have not had
too much trouble with cravings. I think it is my mindset that
is helping. In the last five of so years, I tried to quit so many
times but got nowhere.
This time, I actually set up a plan, and I am following it to the
best of my ability.  I read up on what to expect when quitting;
I wrote out in my quit...

Two weeks smoke free

Today I woke up and realized that I did not have a cigarette
for two weeks. The lozenges are a big help for me, and any cravings
I get, are easily walked off. I am able to walk a lttle bit faster without
getting out of breath. On Monday, I am going to extend my walks
to 45 minutes; 30 minutes now. My appetite is slowly coming back,
and I am eating more veggies.

11 Days Smoke Free!!!

Well, this is my 11th day smoke free, and I am having
a fairly easy time of it. I average 12 Lozenges/day,
so they are really helping with the cravings.
It is starting to get colder here on Long Island,
and with the short time without cigarettes, I notice
one big improvement; Cold Weather Coughing.
What with the colder, drier air, this was usually
the time I found it difficult to smoke and breathe
at the same...

Myquitjourney

I have had 2 cigarettes this morning.
After smoking them, I was angry with myself,
for being so stupid. I immediately went on
the Nebulizer, and also took my inhaled
Asmanex, coughed all the junk out of my
lungs, and decided that 59 years of smoking
was enough.
I am now using the Commit Lozenges, and I feel
good about myself now, confident that with...
