I'm a 31 year old mom going on my 11th year of having RA. Up until a couple months ago, I was afraid to try any meds b/c of possible side effects so I was relying strictly on supplements and diet. It got to the point where I could barely carry a gallon of milk or open a door so I knew I needed to start thinking about making some changes and considering some meds. I would always get a script from the dr and then never fill it. I was scared. Finally a couple months ago I just bucked up and did it. I started Meth. Well my worst nightmare came true. I had mouth sores, my gums were so swollen I couldn't eat etc. My rheumy said to get off it immediately I was allergic. So I started Prednisone and Humira. The Prednisone is a life saver. Within a day of starting, I could tell a HUGE improvement in what I was able to do without pain! I've since done 3 Humira injections. I haven't been able to tell any difference from when I was doing just the Prednisone.PHOTOS:
