After 2-3 episodes a month for the firs 28 years of my life I've had almost daily headaches since fall of 2007. Since then I've tried most of the front line preventatives - Topomax, Depakote, blood pressure meds, a couple anti-depressants etc. I've had two hospital stays, Michigan Head Pain near Ann Arbor in Summer 2008 and Jefferson Headache Center in Spring of 2009. Both stays were to break an endless headache cycle. Both times the headache eventually broke and I got back to somewhat controlled episodes (2-3 per week largely suppressed by DHE, anti-nausa, zanaflex, aleve and advil). I've been back at work full time since November of 2009. Caffeine is still my emergency rip-cord if I need to function but I have to be really careful. If I use it to break headaches for a week straight the following week is hell. If this sounds similar to your story give me a shout if you have ideas. I also cut out alcohol in 2006 (for more than just migraine triggers).
