I am waiting to go into hospital for an angiogram to diagnose angina, I have been getting chest pain on exertion for around nine months. Had no idea that it had anything to do with the heart until recent weeks. I was a 40 a day smoker however have managed to stop 5 weeks ago today. My GP has put me on 40mg Simvastatin which have made me feel rather odd.. I have also put on over a stone in weight in 5 weeks since starting medication, and this has not been due to stopping smoking as I have been very careful not to change my eating pattern and I am still taking nicotine replacement. I have also been getting episodes of hives on my hands, tiredness, blood blisters on my mouth and a feeling all the time that my ears need to pop..Anyone else had such side effects?
