I have had Fibromyalgia for many years but wasn't diagnosed until 15 years ago. I thought everyone must have pain every day like I did. Doctors couldn't figure it out back then. I found a new doctor who is up-to-speed and usually knows about the latest treatments, etc. He has been treating me for the last 6 years. My pain level is usually at 8-9 in a scale of 1-10. The pain is all over my body. I had to give up my musical theater tickets because I cxouldn't set through a performance. I can go to the movies if I take a pain pill before hand. Very frustrating. I have bursts of energy that allows me to keep my house clean, wash clothes, etc. Since the doctor has put me on Ultram ER 300 and Cymbalta, I spend very little time in bed during the day and actually feel good most of the time. I was able to finally get off Ambien two years ago. I had all the wild scenerios that were associated with the medication. I am sleeping well now as long as the pain is under control. I don't know if others have experienced this, but the pain medication only takes the edge off the pain. Nothing I have used so far eliminates the pain.
I have a very good outlook on life and take Fibromyalgia as a challenge. I understand my limitations and my husband is very understanding. He only wishes he could help make the pain go away.
It is nice to be in the community.
