ABOUT ME:
I was a very happy, always smiling, goofy person until I had an injury accident at work which changed my life forever. Since that fateful day, I have gone through more pain and suffering than any person should ever be allowed to. I was 34 at the time, had a 5 year old son, worked in Veterinary Medicine which was my passion, and had basically a wonderful life. Since that day, I have put my parents, my son, and mostly, my Dr. in so much peril. I have been on massive doses of Opiates, have been severely depressed without being able to tolerate any form of anti-deppressant due to adverse reactions, have had many treatments, all unsuccessful until my last Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted. The implant workes so well, that I was able to take myself off all of the Opiates I was on, and it has enabled me to at least get out of bed now. Unfortunately, just a year after receiving relief from my injury, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and am suffering from the pain that it causes. I am now back on medication to relieve the pain, but it is the medication Subutex. It works wonderfully for my fibro pain, without leaving me in a drooling vegetative state like I was before!! But I still have my wonderful son who is 16 now, and have met and married a wonderful man who is very sympathetic to my situation, as he himself, broke his back several years ago, and knows what pain and depression can do to a person. Since I can't tolerate anti-depressants, my husband picks me up when I am down. He was on high doses of anti-depressants when we first met, and has not taken them since we started dating and got married!!(2 years now as of 10/08!) We are both so happy together! My life now has meaning once again. I truely am the poster child regarding hope for Chronic Pain Patients across the world, thanks to God and my Dr.!!
