I have been having symptoms related to basilar migraine all my life. sometimes I Iget symptoms with headache and sometimes the symptoms can occur without headache. The symptoms can be quite disabling especially if i have a prolonged attack, but in between attacks I try my best to just get on with my life and remain active.
I live in england and I am married and I have two children one is 11 and the other (not quite a child now ) is 22 years old.
I work part time as a nurse as family life can keep me busy. But try not to overtire myself as this appears to make the symptoms of the basilar migraine worse.
I find the best way to cope is to try and keep a sense of humour about the whole thing. I can find a joke in the most difficult of circumstances, usually to combat my fear of what is going on. We try to stay fit as a family and enjoy going for long walks. I try to remind myself I am lucky and compare my circumstances to others in less fortunate positions, but the migraine I have has had a big impact on my life.
my husband also has migraine, its more classical, but just as disabling when he gets the attacks. We tend to support each other and we are finding this website great for information and knowledge of things we didnt realise before.
my husband suggested the internet as he thought support from a wider community who understands would also be benificial to me after my last prolonged attack of symptoms. The whole thing made me more frightened than I had ever been before and this time everyone thought id had a stroke but it was just the TIA of the attack.
Anyway glad I found you-- Thanks
