You're A Keeper

One day someone's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the> warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning> that> sometimes there isn't any more. No more hugs, no more special moments to> celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute."
> Sometimes,...

Being open about mental illness

I had an appointment with a personal trainer, who asked me about my medical history before creating a personalized weight training program. In addition to telling her about my low back pain & bum knee, I mentioned that I have a mental illness. She seemed taken aback, and didn't say too much at the time, so I immediately regretted saying anything about it. However, a few days later, she approached me at the gym & said...

Ready, Set,...Oh my God, I can't do it (make it into work)

Got my make-up on, my hair done, my lunch packed. Then I freeze. I'm overwhelmed. Once again. I've been back at work for 3 months now, trying to do a 'graduated return to work'. The good days are as good as I ever had. The bad days are train wrecks, and I'm wise to stay home; I did try to 'go in anyway', a couple times, and all it did was tie up my brain like a...

Seroquel, Lamotrigine, Zyprexa

I suffer from BD 1 & recently attended a seminar on BD in Vancouver. One of their findings with regards to Seroquel is that there was very little difference in results, between the 300 mg dose and the 600 mg dose. Good news. I have done considerable research, and already know that my next drug to try would definitely be Seroquel. Currently I take Lamotrigine (200 mg), Prozac (20 mg) and Zyprexa as needed for breakthrough psychosis...
