I am a nutritionist and mother of three girls. Two of my children have dealt with acid reflux disease, food allergies and asthma.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Harding University and graduate work in Public Health Nutrition through Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to writting for Health Central I also do consults and serve on the Board of Directors for the Pediatric Adolescent Gastroesophageal Reflux Association.
The passion I have for families dealing with health struggles comes directly from our own experiences. Parents need to be empowered to make appropriate choices for their child's health and that only comes when they are able to obtain accurate information. It is also important for families to know that they are not alone! There are many of us who have also been caregivers to children with GI diseases, food allergies and asthma. We survived, we understand and we are here to help!
I hope my educational and "hands on" experience can serve to help families currently dealing with the nutritional, physical, emotional and financial aspects of these diseases.
I currently live a quiet life in beautiful small town Arkansas with my wonderful husband and three beautiful daughters.
