I am a nutritionist and mother of three girls. Two of my daughters have dealt with acid reflux disease and two also have asthma.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Harding University and graduate work in Public Health Nutrition through Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to blogging for Health Central I am also the Volunteer Services Coordinator for the Pediatric Adolescent Gastroesophageal Reflux Association and serve on the Board of Directors as well.
The passion I have for families dealing with acid reflux comes directly from my own struggles. Parents need to be empowered to make appropriate choices for their child's health and that only comes when they are able to obtain accurate information. It is also important for families to know that they are not alone and that there are many of us who have also been through the "reflux rollercoaster" and survived. I hope my educational and "hands on" experience can serve to help families currently dealing with this disease.
I currently live in small town Arkansas with my wonderful husband and three beautiful daughters.
