ABOUT ME:
I am a graphic artist (now working on a book about the Grand Canyon) who just moved to Sun City from Grand Canyon National Park where my husband worked as Training Manager for all staff associated with Xanterra which runs all hotels, food locations, gift shops, etc. within the Park. We had a100 year old home at the Canyon with 9 rooms (our new yhome has 4 rooms. Yes, we are throwing a lot of things away on days when we feel like it. Though I don't walk well I do go on short walks on sidewalk in our neighborhood using a walking stick. Every Friday we go out to eat (me in a wheelchair with my portable oxygen pack in tow.) We look forward to visiting with friends and our little outings. I Couldn't hike at the Canyon because of rough terrain but would have loved to. Have a Treadmill and small weights but have not yet been cleared to use them yet.
We love animals and we have a "Main Coon" kitty named Gracie. She is our furr person and talks all the time. She is 13 years old but you would never know it. She has a nose for everything and loves people. My husband just happens to be her favorite person.
Our parents all left this Earth a year ago. One right after the other while we were moving from the Canyon to Sun City. It has been trying but we are doing well, all things considered. We look forward to improvements in my health so we can go and do more and fix-up things at our new (old) home. Being retired has been keeping us busy.
Jim and I have been married for 41 years and have loved being together. As I told him once; "Darling, being with you is just as good as being alone." I hope you get the joke. Really, life is good!
