28 Year Old Female
Have lived with headaches/migraines since I was 10 years old. Pretty much every day of my life since I was 10 (with a few exceptions here and there) have had a headache everyday of my life.
I thought I would just learn how to deal with a headache everyday. It made my quality of life pretty miserable, but I thought that's how it was supposed to be.
This past July (2008), I was admitted into the ER for Stroke Like Symptoms with a migraine. They thought it was a possible TIA (again, had one of those three years ago). They referred me to a nuerologist who FINALLY! had an idea of what might be the issue and decided to put me on amitriptyline as a daily regime for my headaches. Within 2 weeks, the daily headache was gone.
Between watching my diet, exercise, and monitoring everything. Have had only one migraine since then and that was due to over-stimulants (caffiene and poor eating for a week). It's been amazing having my life back again :-)
