Surgery for Migraines

I had surgery for my migraines in September. It's a very "new" procedure. My insurance approved the first time. Well, it helped the back of my head. But, just recently, I began getting Chronic migraines again. It involves tieing off arteries from the nerves in the head. In the back of the head, (above the neck) and to the sides in the temple region. This surgery helped for awhile. I was denied recently for revison of my cranial nerve. So, that...

New Surgery

I'm planning on having a surgery where 2 nerves are cut in our neck and 2 in the head. It's called Ocipital nerve/fascia decompression. It's really new, but if you get results with Botox, then this could work, so the doc says. Has anyone ever heard of this??? It's a doc in Indianapolis.
I need all the info I can get thanks.

Migraines and getting others to understand

I can't believe there are still so many people unaware of migraine disease. People say the same thing. "What can they do? (doctors meaning). Is it chocolate? There's nothing for that? Duh!!! Don't you think I'd be on it if there was. Please, Please, someone make a commercial, and make it public on TV that Migraine is a disease, not just a symptom. Sure there are triggers, But if you have like me, Lights, Noise, Smells, what can you do? Where can...

Fioricet

I've heard this was good for migraines. It's suppose to be a "newBreak", I don't know sounds like the same stuff that's been around, with a lot of side effects.
Does anyone know about this?

Life Goes On

I want to go to the party, but my head is pounding everywhere,
I want to go see my friends, but the pain is more than I can bare.

I wanted to go to the park and play with the kids today,
yet another old flame came around to burn out my way.

I wish to go to the reunion and see everyone from different towns,
But, my day started off as usual and I can't even stand any sounds.

Life goes on, that's what they say,
Maybe...

Neck pain and migraines

I have a disc problem c5-C6 and I had it fixed with Laser surgery. At first, it felt better. Now it's so painful. My neck hurts all the time. I'm planning on going back to the pain management doctor for facet injections. They helped a long time ago, when I got them. I just don't know what to do. It hurts when I wake up. I also have arthritis in my back from what the Ortho doc said from my MRI. and some Degenerated disc disease. Anyway, I'm...

sinus problems

I have had problems with my sinuses forever, it seems. I've had nose bleeds lately, and I know I've got a deviated septum and I'm planning on getting it fixed although it doesn't sound like fun at all! But, I know it will help me breathe so much better. Anyone else have this problem and good results? Did it help with your migraines at all?

Generic Depakote and Regular Depakote

Has anyone heard that the generic Depakote does not work as well as the regular Depakote? I've heard this and wondering if this is why I'm not getting results. I took regular Depakote for about 6 months and was taken off it, because I switched doctors. I felt it helped a little bit, and that was good for me, because I have migraines about every day.
