I am Migraine

Loose.
Dangling.
Like a phone left off the hook.
I am an extension.
A number.
A page in a misnumbered book.
Silent.
Hushed.
I am a window
on which beats the rain.
Unexplainable.
I am migraine.

Ache of the Head

Throbbing pain cannot be medicated.
Sleep creeps into the tired mind.
Bang! Throb! Throbbing!
The headache turns to migraine.
The carousel ride begins.
Why the ache of the head?
No disease or wound
 could duplicate the pain!
The pain no one understands.
Everlasting struggle without
 success.
The victims fight a losing
battle in the quicksand of the mind.

Migraine will Fade

I have pages to fill.
Nothing to write.
Ceramic bathtub filled with water
to calm my aching head.
The bubbles fade.
Proof that nothing
lasts forever.
I swallow another pill.
The pain my head
is feeling will soon
come to pass.
My energy will
step from within my mind.
And tomorrow there
will be sunshine and
I will have served
my time.
