I am 31 years old. I am a mother of two boys (6 and 3). I found a lump in my breast on September 3rd. I went to my OBGYN to show my physician. She sent me on to a surgeon. I had an exision of my right breast on 10-20-08. I was told on 10-27-08 that I have ductal invasive carcinoma. I have a strong family history of breast cancer and will soon be getting my genetic testing done. I have decided to have a bilateral mastectomy because of my age. I am so shocked. I never thought this would happen to me. Throughout my whole experience the doctors kept telling me that they did not feel it was cancer because of my age. I want to share my story so that other young women can know that it can happen to us as well.PHOTOS:
