I had auras from time to time in my 20s and did not know what to think of them until recently when the Pain began in December 2006. The Pain started with stronger auras, pulsing as in a disco. Forced to go to the doctor, I was informed that I had migraines and was immediately asked if I was pregnant. When I replied no, he then requested an MRI. The good news from all of this is that, according to the MRI scan, I have a plain brain.Just had my first experience with abortive meds yesterday. Still had mental impairment for several hours, but not the Pain, for which I am thankful.
Although my partner is very supportive, and although I desperately fear the Pain, my main motivation in joining this group is to not feel as alone and to learn.
Hopefully, I will be able to contribute to our collective understanding in some way as well.
