ABOUT ME:

I began my career as a speech writer in the United States Senate. I have written for various TV shows, including Designing Women, Family Ties, Kate and Allie. I am the author of "Liberated Lady", which was chosen as Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club selections. As a journalist, my work has been published in the New York Daily News, Boston Globe, Washington Post, Ladies' Home Journal, Women's Day, and the Washingtonian. I am also a playwright, having written "Surviving Grace", produced at The Kennedy Center, off-Broadway at Union Square Theater, and now playing in community theaters across the U.S. as well as in Brazil.

My mother suffered from and died of Alzheimer's. My husband George and I subsequently co-founded USAgainstAlzheimer's, committed to stopping Alzheimer's by 2020. We also launched and for eight years have co-chaired the National Alzheimer's Gala, which has raised over $10 million for the Alzheimer's Association.
