ABOUT ME:

Dr Eric Hassall MBChB, FRCPC FACG is Professor of Pediatrics in the Dept of Pediatrics, Division of Gastroenterology at BC Children’s Hospital & University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, CANADA. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Capetown, South Africa, and trained in general pediatrics in London, England, and Children's Hospital / University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He received his gastroenterology training at the UCLA School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA. His special interests include the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric upper GI disorders, including GE reflux disease and Barrett's esophagus, in addition to gastritis /gastropathy, peptic ulcer diseases, and endoscopy. Dr Hassall has headed international clinical studies, and national professional committees. He serves or has served on several international scientific and advisory committees, clinical practice guidelines committees, and journal Editorial Boards. He serves as an advisor to the U.S. Federal Drug Administration. He is Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of Living with Reflux (LWR), a UK-based registered national charity. He has given more than 350 presentations worldwide, and has more than 200 publications in the field.
