For 22 years, I traveled around the world 10 months a year on business and learned to "sleep like a cat"! (Cat Naps). I also have chronic pain issues for all of these years and longer, and cannot sleep lying flat in a bed so I use my reclining massage chair in the living room as my bed when at home.
I stopped working over 3 years ago (I am not 60 years old) and am dealing with chronic pain issues, high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I had gastric bypass surgery 2 1/2 years ago, but it did NOT help my pain issues OR end my sleep apnea. I was tested before my COBRA health insurance stopped a year ago and I was still diagnosed with sleep apnea, making me basically un-insurable by the US Health Insurance Industry.
Even with a sleeping pill at night, my pain wakes me up in the middle of the night and I can not go back to sleep for at least 2 hours so I am always tired. According to my doctor who diagnosed sleep apnea, I never get into a deep sleep, even using my C-PAP machine, and so far, I have not been able to resolve this problem. I can fall asleep immediately, but never manage to STAY asleep for more than 3 hours.
