HEALTH INTERESTS:

After having successfully navigated depression for 25 years,  I am now working to maintain a healthy lifestyle while keeping hypomania at bay. The Depakene is indispensable for me; however,  learning the behavioral maintenance aspects of mood stabilzation is at the forefront of my current curiosity. I am also interested in the nutritional aspects of mood; however,  right now,  I am somewhat skeptical of the idea of nutrition having as large an impact on mood as daily behavioral choice. I am very interested in learning about the very best books on bipolar disorder.

DRUGS I AM TAKING:

Depakene Generic (Valproic Acid ). Depakote is the same drug with a coating on it,  presumably for those who have stomach issues with the medicine,  otherwise.

ABOUT ME:

I don't believe depression or mania is a disease, and I am bothered by even calling it an illness. For me, it is simply a condition that I must manage - I have always had this condition and I always will. I am not defective, diseased, or ill; however, I am different in my mind's ability to "stop and go." For me, I simply possess "speed of thought" extremes that normal folk don't experience.
