I'm a transplanted Ohio native living in NE Florida. Living with chronic pain since about 1978-79. I was 13 when my scoliosis was found and wish I'd had the surgery then because the pain of not having it now that I'm in my 50's is ridiculous. I met my husband and instantly knew I was going to marry him and 3 weeks later that's exactly what we did (on my lunch-break!) which was almost 25 years ago. About 12 years later, we got permanant custody of a wonderful little boy who was labeled "failure to thrive" because of his bio mom's poor choices. She was young and not ready for the responsibility so she found it in her heart to let us raise him. He's been a blessing since. He has alot of issues due to things he has no control over, but he's learning not to use them as crutches. It's been difficult and rewarding to watch him develop. He's in special needs classes at school (just starting 7th grade) but I think this is the year he'll be mainstreamed and begin thriving and seeing the world differently! I'm anxious and excited about joining you all on this site and hope that I can learn things as well as encourage those who need it.
