Holidays Denial

She seems to still be on the rollercoaster of denial and acceptance. When she seems stable, she is in complete denial and if I let her know that just yesterday she was manic, she gets very angry. When she is obviously manic, she admits that she is not well. I don't think that she'll let the holidays go by without making the front page of the family news.

Are BP people able to love to ones that love them ?

I've been looking for a share post by a "living with it" member stating that they really loved someone...anyone. I know the bean counters say that this illness has no racial or gender bias. But, what about countries where they are hungry? I just can't imagine this illness exsisting in a place where there is nowhere to waste all of your family's money, dreams and future. I also noticed that almost...

Expensive drugs

I would like to gripe about the price of meds for treating this nightmare of an illness. It is simply ridiculus that Zyprexa cost around $20 a pill. It's simply unreasonable that Depakote slow release cost about $10 each. Furthurmore, one usually requires multiple pills per day. The list goes on and on. If one has this illness, they're probably better off being homeless so to get on a...

breathing and cardio changes

Is it normal for dramatic breathing and cardiovascular changes to occur when slipping into manic phase from hypomanic?

Married for 3 months

I got back together with my ex-girlfriend who we have a son together. She suffered from what we both thought was a nervous breakdown of some sort 3 years ago. Her mom has custody of our child since during the pregnancy she was deemed unfit for mothering and I was told that he was not my child. Well, about a year ago she informs that he is in fact my son and I had a DNA test done to prove it. About 10 months ago she and I...
