I started my journey in January 2010. I had tried everything to lose weight and nothing had worked. I was my largest ever. Desperate and depressed, I made a choice to try one more thing. I got hooked up with a healthy lifestyle program that teaches diet and exercise, and from that moment on my life hasn't been the same. I have lost 131.5 pounds and life has changed for the better! What was once too hard is now possible. The best part was that it was really not that hard once I knew and understood better. I still have to pinch myself.. I no longer have all the health issues I had when I started this journey related to being overweight. I ran my first of many 5k runs last year, and I am now well on my way to getting a Blackbelt. It's been amazing, and I can't wait to see what the years ahead will hold in store. The sky is the limit when you are happy and healthy and you are equipped to fight the battle. What we need to do is stop looking for diets and make small incremental changes in our habits for life. It is possible. To pay it forward and share what I have learned along the way, I have now taken on the role as a health coach to assist others in acheiving their weight loss goals.
