Breathing issues-related or no

My MS has been on a rampage of late-stress can bring it on as can illness and I got hit with both. The scariest thing was that I awoke from my sleep unable to breathe-I couldn't move air out or in. It only lasted for a few seconds; but felt like forever and it came back little breaths at a time; as if my lungs had deflated and it took a few seconds to get 'unstuck'.

No to GERD and nightmares. I was sound asleep...

Things are getting weird...

Hey guys! It has been a while since I last posted; I've had my daughter's wedding, then I drove her over 2500 miles to be with her new husband and then drove back home. It has been a crazy few months; but I wouldn't change a thing...because I am alive and happy in the moment! Despite the horrible 'reward' for taking on such a feat-that I knew good and well I should not be doing...but in a way-I had prepared for it-I was able to...

Quaking, shaking and other strange sensations

Hi guys; it has been a long time and I hope that everyone is the best they can be!

Just a stupid question; has anyone ever been woken up to feeling like their in the middle of an earthquake; just to find out that it's you, not the earth? It started out in the beginning several years ago with just a sensation that someone was "shaking the bed, couch, ect." I woke up the other day with a full body sensation-as if I was in an...

about to lose insurance

My husband got a new job that is going to be a wonderful change in our finances; but the down side to this is that there is no insurance. After looking online for a family policy I found out that I am uninsurable due to the fact that i am in limbo. i will have to go on cobra; but that is more expensive for just me than it is for all of us to have a family policy.

I have an appointment with my new neurologist on the 15th; but...

Laugh with me!

Things have been crazy lately. My mother-in-law's Alzheimer's seems to be getting worse and I have been finding partially eaten food in her drawers! She hid a piece of half eaten chocolate in her socks...like a kid hiding broccoli in their napkin; and in keeping with that mentality she told me "I didn't do that." I had to buy a diaper genie to keep her from putting her depends in the laundry...

Limbo Stinks!

Hello everyone! I hope that today finds everyone doing as well as possible! I have an upcoming Optic Neurology appointment on Tuesday. I haven't seen my doctor in almost a year. (He went on hiatus for a few months.) He is the doctor who diagnosed my Horner's Syndrome and that I have demyelination. Anyway, I am a little apprehensive; living in constant limbo has worn me out.

While I...

Nothing New

It's been hard to muster the mental energy to write for a long while. (In addition to forgetting how to create a sharepost-LOL) Except for the pseudoexacerbations from the extreme heat here in Dallas; I have been in remission for a few months. There are symptoms that seem to be with me permanently; but the extremeness is alleviated for now. Thank God for that!

I'm still out of work and there does not seem to be an end...

I'm back!

I'm still here; just finished with physical therapy on my had that the hospital damaged. I can finally close it again; but I have a ugly scar on it and on my thigh from the skin graft. The calcium chloride infiltrated down to my tendon, taking out a couple of veins and some nerves. I am lucky however, it could have been much worse! While in the hospital; my Endocrinologist was able to separate my symptoms from...

Before all else fails

Well, I had my thyroid out yesterday; initial results are benign follicular nodules; but will know for sure Monday. I believe they are benign; but there was more than this reason to remove my thyroid.

I have wonderful doctors who truly care @ me as a patient and have taken wonderful care of me. My PcP put me on hydrocortizone injections before the surgery so I didn't have the same problem as I did with the minor surgery....
