Dr. Cindy Dennison Haines is Managing Editor of HealthDay's Physician Briefing and President of Haines Medical Communications, Inc., a full service medical communications and consulting firm serving over a dozen well-known and respected clients within the medical communications sector. Dr. Haines has extensive experience in medical journalism, having served as medical writer, senior medical/managing editor and consultant to many leading consumer and professional healthcare content providers.
Dr. Haines earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and psychology from Saint Louis University. She went on to earn an M.D. with Distinction, as well as a Geriatric Scholar's Award, from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her residency in Family Medicine was with Family Medicine of Saint Louis, after which she joined a St. John's Mercy affiliated medical practice. Dr. Haines is an active staff physician at St. John's Mercy Medical Center as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Saint Louis University's School of Medicine in the Department of Community and Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board certified in Family Medicine. She was honored with election to the National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals in 2004, the Guide to America's Top Family Doctors in 2007, and is also a member of the International Mensa Society. Dr. Haines is very active in the community as Vice President of the Board for the Saint Louis Academy of Family Physicians, Acting Director of Marketing and Publicity for the HealthCare Business Women's Association-St. Louis, and member of Ladue Chapel and the Daughters of the American Revolution-Fort San Carlos Chapter.
