ABOUT ME:

I was diagnosed with RA in July 2006 - one year after my second son was born. I began experiencing the pain and stiffness in my joints during my pregnancy. Since then, my bloodwork reflects evidence of a moderately active disease. My symptoms have gotten progressively worse over time. It's so frustrating, and very depressing. It seems to have effected every aspect of my life. I'm no longer the same person I was. I'm not as active, as happy, as patient or as strong as I used to feel. Although, when I compare my disease progression to others', it seems to be fairly mild, it is NOT mild for me. I went from being someone who was rarely sick, and fairly active, to someone who has to turn my kids down pretty regularly when they ask me to play with them. I find it even very difficult to smile sometimes.
Anyway....enough of the pity party. I'm just looking to connect with others who can truly empathize and maybe offer some coping advice. I want to learn to be happy despite this disease..... :)
