When Will This End?

After taking my daughter to see the third GI Specialist, things started to get better within 2.5 weeks of seeing him. He had increased the dosage of her Prevacid and Bethanchol. She was actually gaining weight and feeding wasn't much of a struggle anymore, although there were a few fussy feeding periods. Then for the past 2 weeks, she started throwing up more - gagging during her feeds and then would throw up what looks like...

Can Aversion Be Reversed?

I was able to get in to see this particular GI Specialist that came highly recommended by my daughter's pediatrician. For about 2 weeks, she refused to eat. I had to resort to feeding her by syringe, spoon, even dipped a wash cloth in formula for her to suck on...and of course sleep feeding her (which doesn't always go well). She's been to see 2 other GI Specialists but I practically begged the clinic and asked to be put on a...

Aversion has Set In...

My fear for my 4.5 month daughter has come true. This past week and half, she refuses to eat. There will be times when she'll cry when I put the bottle in her mouth and other times she will chew on it a little and then just cry. I've resorted to try to sleep feed her, but it's not going so well. She's eating less than when she fed when awake. Right now she'll eat anywhere from 12-16 oz in a 24 hour...

Those whose babies have to get an NG tube

I brought my daughter in today to see another GI specialist who was able to get a feeding speciaist - OT to see her. She's having feeding issues - she can't suck properly and this past week and half, she' eating 15 oz. I was told if she doesn't gain weight by Monday, she will most likely have to get an NG tube as she hasn't gained any weight in a week. She can't suck properly and I think she's having the beginning stages of...

She's Growing and Healthy Comment

I really hate that comment...I've been getting it from baby's pediatrician and her GI specialist. My 3.5 month daughter was diagnosed with acid reflux when she was 1 month old. I always knew something was wrong when it came to feeding her. She would cry - scream actually, arch her back, basically it looked like she was throwing a tantrum at every feeding. Her vomiting was almost after every feeding and would come through...
