*** Finally....a good doctor! ***

Today was the day. I had the private consultation with one of the UK's top migraine specialists.I'd sent the poor man a ten page chronology, diary, symptoms and even pretty picture of brains! When we got there, I found that he'd actually read all the 'dirty dossier', as I call it. He'd made extensive annotations in preparation for the questions he wanted to ask, and he'd already called colleagues to discuss the case....

More on magnificent friends....

So, here's loving care for you...three friends have clubbed together and paid for me to see a top private headache specialist in London - because the National 'Health' Service has shown itself to be so incapable of responding to my pleas for help. diagnosis and treatment.Well, two friends have stumped up the consultant's fee and the other one is driving me there. Bless them. So, Tuesday is the day. I've emailed his office a...

Thank God for good friends

Well, the sleep test didn't happen. My son let me down at the last minute almost and couldn't take me to the hospital. He just emailed and ran, so to speak. Haven't heard from him since, it looks like he's gone to ground. Very disappointing. But about par for the course. It's the defining feature of my migraine experience that very few people - including medics - think it's important. Or, only important in so far as it...

The saga continues - more tests this week

This week looks set to be busy in terms of my long migraine saga. On Wednesday, I have a 24hr hospital stay with - oh joy! - more tests, and on Friday, I have an appointment with the new GP.The new GP replaces the one I'd been with for 18 years. After 3 years of being ignored and then verbally abused when I dared to articulate some of my frustration to this dork, I did 'the Teri thang': I fired his sorry butt! So, this new GP is...
