ABOUT ME:

All started in 2003 at the age of 56, when numbness and tingling of the left leg appeared as well as vertigo. Had MRI, no diagnosis was made with the exception of neuropathy pain and was prescribed Neurotin. Was on the drug for a few years and gained about 20 pounds. The numbness and tingling had ceased so I took myself off the medication. In 2008 the numbness, tingling and vertigo appeared its ugly head again. Went again to the neurologist. He stated I had RRMS after having another MRI. Didn't like his bedside manner and wanted another opinion anyway. Saw my second neurologist and he did not think I had MS and if I did it was very "light". Got another opinion and that doctor said no to MS but thought I might have had mini-strokes. All this time my leg, arm and shoulder were very much in needed of tender loving care. Went to a research college hospital/clinic and the doctor stated I had PPMS. It appears to be getting worse, if I have to walk on any uneven ground I use a cane. It is hard to get out of bed in the morning since it hurts so much. After taking some pain medication it becomes tolerable but starts back up by mid to late afternoon. In my research there is not much talk about PPMS...sorry to say.
