ABOUT ME:

I am 32, been living with genital herpes for 12 years now. I contracted it from my long term boyfriend of 6 yrs at the very start of our relationship, he had only just started getting outbreaks and didnt tell me, and we had unprotected sex while he had an outbreak, and thus i got it. The first few yrs were tough, many many outbreaks, sometimes twice a month, painful, debilitating, with all the flu symptoms...i didnt take any antiviral suppressive medication, i just soldiered on, not quite sure how i managed! It was only when i came back to SA after 7 yrs, 6 yrs ago now, i went to see a homeopath, and started taking a remedy, herpes simplex 1 and 2...wow, that changed my life!!!! The outbreaks spread out, i got fewer and fewer, from one a month it went to twice a yr, then once a yr, i havnt had an outbreak in nearly 2 yrs now... So i would recommend homeopathy for herpes anyday!!! My doctor also gave me hope, and i believe positivity plays a HUGE role in wellness.... Staying positive, eating right, loads of fruit and veg, i dont do sugar, coffee,alcohol, wheat, dairy, i do exercise, go into nature a lot...and also work to release all the negative feelings, thoughts that are attached to herpes!!! As Lousie Hay says, and i am sure she will not mind me quoting from here amazing book Heal your Body..all disease manifests from negative thought patterns... Herpes is:Mass belief in sexual guilt and the need for punishment. Public shame. Belief in a punishing God. Rejection of the genitals. Wow!!! Thats pretty heavy...and i found if i thought and felt the feelings attached to my herpes, it was pretty correct... The positive affirmation that goes with that is: My concept of God supports me. I am normal and natural. I rejoice in my own sexuality and my own body. I am wonderful! Maybe it is our task as herpes carriers to break those negative beliefs around sex....and rejoice once more in our own beauty and power and naturalness...and the purity of sex itself!!! Thats me!
