Having a bad spell, seeing a new doctor

I have been in a bad cycle lately with my migraines. I have been really, really frustrated. My sleep is messed up, even more than usual. I am awake for awhile until my head gets so bad I have to try to sleep, and then I sleep for a few hours and am up again until my head gets bad again, and then the whole process starts over. I am fortunate, in some ways, that I don't have a job, even though being able to have an...

Appt with OB

Sorry it's been so long! I saw my regular OB and had my IUD removed on Friday! And for those of you who have IUD's and are worried about any pain involved with removing it, it was a piece of cake. Much more pleasant than having it inserted, that's for certain. Seriously, I didn't even feel it come out. I was a bit worried, because I didn't enjoy the experience of having it inserted! ...

I get scared sometimes

In the past month or so, my migraines, which have been somewhat controlled since about March of this year, have gotten a bit worse. I have noticed for about 4 weeks now that at least once a week I get a real monster, the kind that doesn't respond to medication, completely incapacitates me, makes me nauseous, won't let me sleep, takes a full day to recuperate from--I am sure you know how it is. I have been having migraines...

Appt with Dr.

Well,I had my appt with the high-risk OB. He took a few minutes to "warm-up" and then he was very nice. I took my husband with me so that I could be sure and be at the appointment, even if I didn't feel well that day, and it was good for Chris to hear what the doctor had to say about the possibility of us having kids soon. The Dr. looked at each of my meds (and there are about 7 dailies and about 10 more...

Hope this isn't a sign!

OK, I was supposed to meet with my new OB today to discuss the possibility of getting pregnant soon and how that would affect my migraines and the medication regimen I am currently on. When I woke up to go to the appointment though, I was in pain. I was dizzy, had a hard time focusing, and recognized the searing pain inside my head as a migraine. I live about 40 minutes away from the doctor's office, and I knew there was no...

First step, a visit with a new OB

On Wednesday, I will see the new high risk OB that my neuro recommended. I am excited, but also nervous about the visit. Any appt with a new doctor is nerve wracking for me, because it is so hard to explain what I have been through with migraines and really make them understand how difficult it is to manage the disease. As others have pointed out about themselves, when I am not in the throes of a migraine, I don't look...

A new phase of life--Wanting a baby!

Ok, so you can read the stuff about me from my profile, and that's pretty much my history. My headaches are somewhat controlled right now. I still have them multiple times per week, but for now they respond to Zomig, and that is miraculous for me. I also have Meprozine (Demerol and Phenergan capsules) that help when I have to take them. I am 31 and my husband will soon be 39. We have been married for 10...
