Diet for diabetic and gout

My brother in law has been diagnosed with gout in his big toe and is also a diabetic. I am trying to create a healthy diet plan for him to follow. Can you advise me as to the range of foods he can enjoy and still be healthy. He is at least 50 t0 80 lbs overweight. I would really appreciate your feed back. Thank You
