Jay Motola, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been practicing general urology since 1992. He has particular interests in female urology, urologic oncology, minimally invasive urology, urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. He is a member of the Smith Institute of Urology at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, and the Vice-Chair of the Department of Uroogy. Prior to this, for twenty years, he was an attending Urologist at Putnam Hospital and Hudnson Valley Hosptial. He was also an attending in the Department of Urology at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.
He has a keen interest in the minimally invasive organ sparing of prostate cancer and regularly utilizes Cryotherapy and HIFU to accomplish this.
He is on the Board of Directors for the NY Section of the American Urolgoical Assocation, is the vice chairman of the Practice Management Committee and a Memeber of the Health Policy Council for the AUA. He has a keen understanding of the socioeconomics of Health Care in the US.
From 1999-2005 he served as the chairman of the department of Surgery at Putnam Hospital. He is the author of numerous articles in professional peer reviewed journals. He is currently investigating the use of LH/RH agonists in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, and a novel new treatment for bladder cancer. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Urogical Association, Endourology Society, American Medical Association and the Medical Society of the State of New York. He was previously a member of the Young Urologist Committee of the American Urological Association.
