Dr. David A. Kaufman is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He sees patients with a variety of lung diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung diseases. He also takes care of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit at Mount Sinai. He is also involved in research and his particular interest is lung inflammation, examining the role of aging and diabetes on the development of respiratory failure. His other responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents and post-doctoral fellows.
Dr. Kaufman is from New York City and is an avid soccer fan. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Columbia University and did his specialty training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and tennis and reading.
