I'm 46 years old. I have a strong interest in migraine research and have been doing so for about 8 years now. I got my first migraine at 17. Migraine and Heart Disease is hereditary in my family.
My Migraines are Morbid and take me to a dark place.....mentally & physically. They got so much worse when I turned 40. That's when I decided to start seeing a specialist.
I have 2 grown Daughters 24 and 25, a 3 yr old Grandson, married for 27 years, & yes to the same man. :-) I have 5 rescue animals & I'm a huge advoacate for homeless shelter animals. Save a stray, visit your local pound or SPCA today.
I ride my own Harley and I'm very independant.
I had a great job @ a fortune 500 company for 14 years, but I was being harrassed by my boss about my migraines, and forced to take FMLA 3/2010. I wasn't allowed to bring my oxygen tank to work, wear my sunglasses or have the flourescent lights removed above desk. 7/2010- Current: I am now at a BETTER company with NO stress, bulbs have been removed and I'm able to work w/o harrassment which was inducing a lot of my migraines.
I do wish more folks had some understanding of migraine disease. I would like to some day start a support group in my area for others who suffer from this disease. There has just got to be a better way for people to understand what we really go through.
