For Teri

Teri,

I've got some wonderful news. I know you've read some of my writings and you've emailed me some over the years.... After almost 30 years of suffering from the morbid monsters, which only got worse 6 years ago, I have found something that seems to be working for me.
CoQ10 150 Mg's daily (My dose was a little higher but it interfered with my beta blocker a little so I had to tweak it)
Vitamin B2 400 Mg's daily
Magnesium...

People just don't get it.

So- I had one of the worst migraines ever today. My husband tells me I just need to get out of the house and also mentioned how he would trade his knee pain for my head pain. Are you serious??? Do people just NOT GET what a migraine is?

I cried until I thought I would puke. I hit my head on the wall hoping that would help ease the pain. I had an irrational thought in the midst of the horrific pain and had to call my best...

Skull Demons

One, two-what do I do?
Three, four-bang my head on the door.
Five, six-on with the ice picks
Seven, eight-this is my date.
Nine, ten-here we go again.
Eleven, twelve-I think I've gone to hell.

I have horrific pain in my brain.
The skull demons think my head is their home
for hosting this "war zone".

This fight will go on and on for hours, even days.
I wish it could be over soon but they're here to...

"My" Head

My head is no longer part of me.
It has it's own ideas of what it wants to be.

It is often full of morbid pain.
I wonder what I did to deserve "this" brain?

With no control anymore of my life.
I feel as though my brain has been sacrificed.

My head is no longer part of me.
I want no part of this, cant you see?

What can be done to salvage what's left?
This brutal pain...

The Man with the Hammer

There's a man on the couch with a hammer in his hand sitting next to me,We are chained together,I to him.He to me.There's no escape, for I do not have the key.Our days and nights are spent together as you can see,He uses his hammer to smash my brain until I cannot hear and cannot see.I laugh in defiance and pretend I am free. But smash! Crash! Crush! He swings him hammer again! He is part of me.There's a man on the bed with a hammer in his hand...

Migraines in Genral- Written in 2006

Migraines are not just a headache, they are a neurological disease.
I get tension headaches, dull headaches, left ice pick migraines, and then of course the Skull Smusher AKA the brain ATTACK.I've had a "tension headache" for about a week now. I have tightness around the forehead and back of the head. It feels like a rubber band being stretched back and fourth. The pain is not "horrific" nor is it "mind blowing" but it does hurt. It's almost a...
