Prostate information lists many indicators for a man to watch for. I have not seen how potently Prostate would interplay with Diabetes and its medicine reactions. I have Diabetes and am 74 years old. My Doctor doesn't want to take a PSA at my age. I have many of the symptoms but think they are from life stile and Meds. Is any thing written on this combination? How do I put my mind at ease about my prostate?   Barney

Barney,
You are 74 years young and would insist on getting your PSA annually. There is no link between prostate cancer and diabetes. But, a physician greatly considers your diabetes when they have to manage someone with prostate cancer.

My husband was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. His PSA levels read 22.0 so they checked again and his PSA had risen to 34.6. A biopsy was done and then the diagnosis. My question is this: I have been researching and have found nothing on PSA levels this high. We go back in a few days for a bone scan then two days later will find out the results of that. I am wondering if this high level indicates aggression.

My PSA reading went from 1.01 to 3.14 in 9 months Besides cancer what else would have caused this ? I am 76 years old
