H Denis, I think I have already visited the site although will have another look. I have visited a number of websites to try and understand it all but it does not seem that straightforward. Regards, Keify

    Thanks Ron.

I now finally have a referral to a urologist at another hospital (I think they just wanted to be shot of me) but it has taken over 3 months to achieve (appointment next month) and another month (still waiting) for referral to a pain specialist. In the meantime pain killers are not helping, although I sometimes (without pain killers) feel a little better. But I'm still not clear whether (as told me by the existing urologist) prostatitis cannot be detected without a biopsy, which he said in any event may not help and could make matters worse, so I have not opted for it. I don't suppose alpha-blockers (or other treatments) will be prescribed unless and until prostatitis is actually diagnosed.

    Cheers,   Keify
