Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 04:28 PMThank God - I thought I was losing my mind! OK here is what I know. Growing up I worked at the local pool and wore wet trunks a lot and like the bike rider and soccer player there is a lot of friction. Years ago more than 15 I had the same irritation on the tip of my penis and as everyone else has agreed, all doctors says its nothing?
Ironically I just got back from vacation, a week in the sun and terribly spicy food and on day 7 I got the tip irriatation again red swollen painful - have been married 14 years so even though I haven't had other partners I definately think there is a relation ship to Diet, moisture, and friction to the area.
Dousing yourself with Gold Bond Medicated powder (stings a bit) but helps a lot. Having all the normal tests run just for my sanity and peace of mind. I want to thank all of you for the comments knowing the commonality of this helps greatly and assures me that I am not crazy, good luck to all.

Wednesday, June 04, 2008 at 12:05 PMI to have had simular problems, it seems to occur more on hot days when working outside. there were also a few other symptoms in my case, sore joints. After a couple of trips to the doctors and two MRI's they decided to due the blood test, wich came back with high uric acid levels(GOUT) once I started the meds and a major change in diet, things begin to get better.Allthough staying on the diet is hard to due I realize when I cheat the diet the symptoms start up. The tip of my penis becomes red irratated dry blister like and the milky discharge, this lasts for at least 3 days before I can get it back under control. I don't know if this will help any of you. but thats my story

results from cystoscope
IRGenius
Tuesday, October 02, 2007 at 11:58 PMSo I did do the scope. Physician found that there were "balloons"? of white globules in my urethra which were not normal. If there are physicians/assistants who can help me understand what this is -- I would appreciate it. In addition, he discovered that there was one particular area that was very inflamed (red).
He put me on levaquin 750mg X 14 -- 1 per day. In 2 weeks I am to call and tell him if situation has improved. I am hopeful that it will improve -- but so far ( 1 week) it has not. He said the next step (if the levaquin doesn't work) will be to do a course of medicine that is not typically found in pharmacies (he didn't mention the name). If that medication doesn't work -- it will be an ultrasound.
I am very curious and hopeful at this point. He doesn't seem concerned. I didn't ask about a PSA test this time.....from what I have read ( and if I understand it correctly) there have been procedures that have been performed unnecessarily because of PSA results. Seems logical...but in this day and age I guess to me I would like to know more information than less.
I also have strange, intermittant pain in my lower abdomen, and seem to be constipated lately. Watchful and hopeful at this point. I stopped riding bikes -- it is too painful at this point...but I continue to exercise and hike.
More to come....

Urethra irritation
Eric Hulliberger
Thursday, October 04, 2007 at 07:46 PMHi IRGenius - Did your primary care doc or the urologist mention taking a course of Oral Prednisone? I am experiencing a somewhat similar problem, I have discomfort like an urgency to urinate that when I move, sit or even walk now that seems to start at the middle of my penis shaft and radiates up into the head of the penis. It is uncomfortable to urinate and when I am done the sensation in the shaft and head of my penis is worse for a while, but it never goes away completely, just like little impulses all the time. My doctor did the digital rectal exam and he said my prostate is enlarged for sure, and I am only 34 yrs old. Anyway, they ruled out STD's or a urinary infection with urine test and swab cultures. I did have some white blood cells in my urine though. I took a course of Doxycycline antibiotics and the doc put me on Indomethacin for 2 weeks. Funny thing is it started feeling a lot better, then I woke up one morning last week and it was raging again and hasn't stopped since. I finally called doc back and he prescribed Prednisone dose-pack, which I started this morning, and depending on whether that works he might refer me to a urologist. This is starting worry me, it's like there is no way to escape discomfort in your privates unlike other parts of your body, and I don't want to live this way indefinitely. Let me know how your problem is going, you posted your reply about having the scope 2 days ago, it is now 10/4/07. E-mail is ehulliberger@porterhills.org
Thanks, Eric

Redness around urethra, slightly swollen, painful corona
Klikor
Friday, November 02, 2007 at 10:40 PMFor nearly 2 months, I have had redness around urethra opening, swollen penis head (glans corona), and intermittent pain in the glans (dull pain, as though from inside). Ocasionally, a general pelvic discomfort that appears mostly after physical activity and seems to be coming from the prostate. Also lately - pain in leg muscles (thighs and calves) and numbness and tingling in one or both legs. All tests negative - urine, swabs, ultrasound of the area. No antibiotics worked. Seems like a chronic prostatitis, non-bacterial....how to deal with this? Diet? Just wait? Anti-inflammatories? More tests?

Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 05:35 PMThis could be coincidence, but about 10 days after a lap dance with a heavy and hard amount of grinding, I also am having problems of this nature.
I am rather young for these sorts of things (29). It started (a month ago) as pain after urination at the tip of the urethra, a constant urge to "go", some minor dull groin pain, some not-so-minor pain in my penis, and some residual pain in the backs of my legs.
I've had no rashes, sores or discharge.
Doc tested for every std under the sun (all negative). I went on a lot of Doxycycline (two 10-day runs of 200mg per day). This drug is has ****** with me. It's a powerful "wide spectrum" antibiotic and is what they use to treat Anthrax!!! Makes me tired, dries the hell out of my mouth and lips... can't wait till i'm done.
Anyway, he suspected some sort of non-std related urethritis and/or prostatitis. Things really started to improve with massive doeses of cranberry juice extract in pill form. (4 pills, 3 times a day). This is clinically proven to keep bacteria from growing in your internal pipes.
Hope this helps, let me know if you all have any tips.

I am in good shape and 32. Just wondering.

Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 03:16 AMchris,
my Doc's comments about this were with prostatitis... he said that it can be stubborn and take along time for infection to clear due to the highly acidic nature of the prostate glad. I"m sure that it's similar for the urethra due to the high acidity of urine.
try the cranberry extract in pill form, and take the maximum dose. Cranberry juice did NOTHING for me. I've also been eating a lot of "Crasins".... seems to have helped.
Best of luck.
Btw, I'm 29 and am in great shape. I run 8-10 miles a week and lift weights. This whole ordeal has been a bit of a dark cloud on my life for the past month. It's depressing, for sure. Hang in there.

Sunday, December 09, 2007 at 07:21 PMxander,
after about 2 months of problems, things are back to about 90-95% normal.
I had 20 days of doxycycline (100mg 2x per day)
I also took 3 cranberry extract pills per day for about 3 weeks.
Also, 1000mg of Vitiman C (as calcium absorbate) 3x per day, 50mg of zinc 1x per day, and echinacha pill 3x per day.
The combonation of these things along with giving alcohol a big rest (i drank 2-4 drinks per day) and spicy food a rest... has really helped.
I looked into Dr. Andrew Weil's advice for prostate problems in addtion to the input from my doctor. My doc gave my the doxycycline, Weil's suggestion was the vitimans. It has helped.

frequent urination
Alan Jones
Monday, January 07, 2008 at 10:23 AMI have suffered for a long time with an enlarged prostate and the aggrivation of frequent urination and a numbing feeling in my penis when the problem gets worse. After reading all of the coments one thing that was missing was how food can effect your prostate. Guys, there are a lot of foods that will cause the prostate to become more enlarged. For me, all dairy products, nuts, especially cashews, and spicy foods create problems for me. I nornally have to get up about 4-5 times a night to urinate. This does not make for a restfull night of sleeping so I am tired most of the time. When I stay off these foods my condition always improves and my bathroom runs drop to 1-2 a night. The problem I have is the disipline to stay off these foods that I love. I am 56 and the problem is only getting worse. I just polished off a giant can of cashews and a large bag of chocolate peanuts over the last two days while recovering from an illness. Well I am paying the price today. As the saying goes "we are what we eat", especially as you get older. As we get older we are supposed to get wiser, so why then do we keep going back to things that we know will hurt us. Medicine will help correct the immediate problem but if we do not live a healthy lifestyle we are doomed to repeat the cycle over and over again. I am typing out a New Years Resolution as a prayer that I will read every morning to draw strength to overcome my addictions and become healthier. Good luck to all and have a blessed day. Alan

Wednesday, January 09, 2008 at 06:00 AMI went to my Urology doctor, he did just about everything, found nothing to treat. After reading many posting I thought... hey, if it is not internal, maybe it is external, some sort of skin irritation, need to see my dermatologist but meanwhile... I sprayed a little Tinactin (yes its for Athlete's foot) on my fingers, then spread it over the head... a little ouch. Couldn't tell for sure if there was a big difference, maybe it was still on my mind. But the next day I sprayed a little directly on the head. Just after this and from then on... no more symptoms and now after 2 weeks I have posted after using. Is this only a temp fix or did something else fix it?

total blockage
Alan Jones
Friday, January 11, 2008 at 01:03 PMI posted Monday about how I was having trouble with frequent urination. Well by 6:00 that evening I could not urinate at all. I thought it would improve as the night wore on but I went the whole night without urinating. Needless to say I was in extreme pain and did not sleep the whole night. My wife kept asking me if I wanted to go to the emergency room but I was stubborn and thought it would open up and allow me to go. We went to the emergency room at 9:00 the next morning and I was in more pain then I have ever experienced in my life.
They put a catherer in me and drained 1800 cc's of urine. The doctor told me that this was 4 times the amount that the bladder would normally hold and that I had stretched my bladder to a point of possible permanent damage. He told me we would have to keep the catherer in for about 10 days to allow the bladder to heal. As I mentioned in my earlier post I have been suffering from enlarged prostate and frequent urination problems for a long time and it was only getting worse. I have decided to have the Green Light Laser treatment which all research shows to be the safest and less intrusive way to go. To all of you guys who continue to have problems I believe this will be the solution for most people that do not respond to medication any longer or not at all. The main problem as I see it is that the prostate continues to enlarge and eventually the medications and treatment are not capable of reducing the size of the prostate enough to produce the relief needed. Trust me, you do not want to go through the agony associated with total blockage. If it does happen go to whomever can put a catherer in right away. I will post again when I have some additional information.

irritation on tip of penis right under urethra

Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 11:30 PMIt's kind of interesting I feel like all the people with this problem are older. I'm 16 years old and am having the same symptoms as some of you, with the red tip of my penis and stinging and irritation. I've read most of the responces and find it interesting that 2 have gotten lap dances with grinding, the forum starter is a bike rider (assuming there rubbing) and I play soccer and usually wear boxers where there is rubbing against the tip of the penis. I hoping and kind of glad it seems to be that because i have recently had unprotected sex and have gotten oral and was scared i got something else! My parents dont know im sexually active so i haven't gone to a doctor or anything. I've been researching on other websites aswell, and ive started wearing briefs to stop the rubbing. Redness and other symptoms have reduced greatly but not completely. I've also read some one using monistat (female yeast infection cream) with a few drops of white vinegar and it cleared up over night. I on the other hand dont feel like paying 20 dollars for some cream and im going to do a test and skip the cream and go straight to the white vinegar. They suggested not doing this, for those of you who are wondering, why, what, white vinegar?? It's an old indian tale that white vinegar cure infections and things of that nature. On a more simple terms it burns through your skin, but in the process im hopin it will get rid of whatever this is. Ive already applied some with a cue tip earlier symptoms seem to have gotten better. I will again before i go to bed and see what happens in the morning. If anyone has any objections or ideas let me know!!

Monday, September 08, 2008 at 07:11 PMHey buddy. I was just like you when I was that age. I had similar symptoms and was scared and worried that someone would find out and that it might be stds or something. Trust me. Stop worrying. Tell your parents you stomach hurts or something and then go see the doctor and tell him everything.
It is very, very highly unlikely you got an std from 1 oral session but get it checked just to make yourself feel better. The doctor is your friend dude. Dont be afraid of it. And, believe it or not, you could even tell your parents (probably dad) that your dick hurts at the tip (but that you havent had sex) and he'll probably take you to the doctor.
Dont go dipping your dick in all kinds of stuff on your own. Vinegar?!! Are you kidding me. You are only gonna make it worst. Go to the doctor, get him to send you to a urologist. This is NOTHING to be ashamed or worried about. Its a guy thing, and that is all. Just like chicks get yeast infections, its just one of those things.
Ok bud. Relax, see the doctor and get checked out.

Monday, April 28, 2008 at 11:06 AMLook, you don't have to tell your parents what the problem is or that you have had sex, but you do need to go have a diagnosis especially if you had unprotected sex. Chances are that it isn't friction burns. Vinegar may help -after- monistat for yeast infections because it changes the environment where yeast likes to grow, but it won't cure yeast overgrowth. But better you make sure you don't have something that needs strong medicine. That way you won't pass it on to your partners if it is contagious.

Saturday, February 02, 2008 at 02:57 PMI have had most of the same symptoms posted on this site (redness, inflammation, and dull pain in tip of penis) for 10 months now and I am only 23. The sensation started immediatley after receiving terrible oral sex from a girl. She sucked so hard that there was a bruise on the head of my penis. I have tried every cream there is (including Monistat with white vinegar), antibiotics, gone to multiple different docotors and to no avail. The most frustrating thing is that the doctors try to convince me that there is nothing wrong with me, but there clearly is. I just don't understand how there can be as many of us out there with this same problem and yet nobody has an answer for us. If someone comes up with a cure please post it. Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 02:13 AMBeen there... similar story, was a problem for over a year... 3 urologists and 2 dermatologists later I found the answer... it was me.
Basically the initial problem was caused by irritation due to friction during oral sex, but then the anxiety of what was wrong keeps it going. It took me 6 months of treatment with desonate cream (low strength steroid) and taking Clomipramine (anti anxiety) to keep me from dwelling on it for it to go away.
After that I was fine, for about the past 6 months but last week it started up again after sex... so im back on the meds, hope it doesnt take months this time.
But the bottom line is anxiety can do alot, the burning is uncomfortable and your mind fixates on it and doctors inability to find anything wrong adds to the frustration and worry as to what could be wrong. Think of it like sunburn or a cut... as long as your focused on it... it doesnt heal.

I haven't seeked Medical help yet but through reading different websites,it seems like it is an infection, either yeast or in my case maybe jock itch variant ,since I play lot's of Hockey and I take between 2-4 showers in arenas or gyms(may be a cause?) Soaps may also play a role with the mix of taking showers with hot water.I heard that taking a cup of hot water mixed in with a spoon full of fresh lemon juice and a spoon full of extra virgin olive oil, every morning for 10 mornings in a row 15 min before eating, will cleans the system down below. I will give that a shot!!!

Thursday, February 07, 2008 at 12:51 AMI am a 37yr old man with the same symptoms for 2yrs now... some similar to everyone elses, but a little different in a way. I have a burning sensation in my penis when I have to pee or when I feel the need to have a bowel movement...the pain usually subsides after I have gone to the bathroom. Some days I have no pain, and other days I have pain in my penis while walking. I've been tested for every STD(all negative) under the sun, taken every antibiotic know to man, told I was "just imagining it" from a urologist...but yet my pain is real and very disruptive in my life. I've learned to live with it thinking there is no answer...but I hope there is. Does anyone think it could be something related to the digestive tract and your body "feeling" the pain in your penis? I'm almost out of hope trying to figure this thing out.

Friday, February 08, 2008 at 11:47 AMI'm in the same boat as you guys. Tenderness, discomfort in around the last inch and a half of penis. Testicles a little sore. Slightly enlarged prostate. Lower abdomen discomfort. Feeling of constipation. Seems to sap me of my energy as well. Also, affects libido badly.
Have had these symptoms since mid October 07. Thus far have taken 3 different antibiotics with no relief (currently taking Levaqun 500mg 1 X daily for 30 days). I'm already at day 22 and no relief. Had a cystoscopy last week (man, was that ever painful).
My blood, urine tests have come back pretty clean lately. The first one I had showed some elevated white blood cells.
I suggested to my doc (Urologist) that since I had tried 3 different antibiotics, that maybe it was fungal rather than bacterial. He said that seemed unlikely, but I just am really wanting relief of symptoms because it gets depressing living with this crap. Even if it doesn't work, I want to try an antifungal like Diflucan or something. Couldn't hurt and it's another thing that I can rule out.
He is sending me to an infectious disease guy next. We shall see. In the meantime, think I'll try the vitamin regimen that the one poster mentioned had worked for him.
Like others, I find it very hard to give up spicy foods, and I do like a quality beer most every day too. Those are hard to give up.
Oh, and started Flomax yesterday. I was a little leery, having read all the possible side effects. Experienced none of them, thankfully.
Good luck to you all, and if you find an answer, please come back and post it.

I have researched possible connection with leaky gut, etc. and have had extensive testing. I have gone for one week therapy at the National Center for Pelic Pain Research, seen phyiscal therapists trained in CPPS, changed my diet, tried herbs and homeopathic remedies, accupunture, etc. Now I am investigating genitourinary mycoplasmas as a potential cause. And, i am constulting with renown Dr. Paul Fugazzatto and his theories. I am interested in talking to anyone with the same symptoms to compare notes to see what works and what doesn't. I do have lower abdomial pain as well (tender and refers pain to tip of penis when pressed). The tip of my penis feels raw like the nerves are exposed and is constant pain except when I sleep and briefly when I awake. I alsoo have mild to moderate pain during urination nearly 100% of the time. I don't think I have IC (Interstitial Cystitis) because I don't have frequent urination or flare ups from foods or other things (both common amongts IC sufferers). Any input, research, etc, is welcomed.

Friday, August 29, 2008 at 02:13 AMI have had the same problems for over a year now and belive there is a connection with the bowels. Many men who have this problem also have intesinal problems. If you have intestinal bacterial overgrowth and/or associated "leaky gut" these toxins can leak through your intestinal wall and irritate afferent nerves in the enteric nervous system and pelvic region causing referred pain. I've researched my condition extensively, let's compare notes. You may contact me anytime.

Friday, August 29, 2008 at 03:14 AMHey Kevin...I think you are onto something that many of us have overlooked. The pain "really" isn't in the penis, but the connective nerves associated with your bowels and the muscles in your groin. I was diagnosed with colitis (swelling of the lower bowel that causes diarrhea and pain in the abdoman from ulcers in the lower bowel) twenty years ago. I have dealt with that and have lived a normal life up and until almost 3yrs ago.
The disruption of my normal life was horrendous because the pain was overwhelming and not a soul could understand what I was experiencing. It actually made me depressed. But I have found something that has worked for me. It may not work for you but it has been a blessing for me.
I have acutally learned how to live with this aweful torment that the doctors term as "in your head". I have been taking tadalifil (cialis) one pill every two or three days. I started taking it because my sex life was in the dumpster because of my pain...the last thing I wanted to do was have sex at that time.
I may have a bad day or two in a month but overall I have forgotten about the pain and it doesn't rule my life. I'm not advocating any drug but...my dick doesn't hurt anymore. Enough said?

Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 02:50 PMThat's interesting because every time I take Cialis, I feel much better. I can have sex, etc. and the pain subsides (except after ejaculation). But when the Cialis wears off I'm back to being in pain. My pain is specifically near the bladder neck where the mucles are that open or close for the urine and on the tio of my penis as well. I may look into the new Cialis that you can take every day and see if that makes a difference. In the meantime, I'll be working to get rid of my SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) because I believe there is a gut/bowel connection to CPPS as I mentioned in my prior post.

Tuesday, September 09, 2008 at 10:02 PMKevin,
I am suffering from something similar. I am 31 and circumcised. I am at about month 3. I put out a post with my story....maybe to long and bored everyone but i am really at a loss here. I have gone on some ups and downs with this and it has gotten me all different levels of depressed. I have never had any medical problems and this has really got me. I thought stds but all screens come back negative, going to get a whole screen done again in a Nov to reaffirm that is not the problem. No discharge whatsoever, some oddities at times with peeing(that being that i seem to dribble a bit more, maybe i am just more sensitive to everything) Skin on glans has seemed different...like skin is irritated kind of like patches/areas of inflammation...has gone down and is less than before, what concerned me is that the irritation that started just on the glans and the irritation/sensitivity which was external...looked like it moved into my urethra. About that time i had a swab test for gonoria/clamidia(i think that is the right one"bore punch") and afterward i think that is when i started to feel some weird sensitivity at the urethra opening and then it just got worse and the pain at times was unberable. At one point i thought my urethra tube was being invaded and worried whatever was going to get to my testicles. That extreme has gone away but i am still having the redness(around the urethra opening, extending from opening on top of glans), some redness of skin on glans, very sensitive glans, pain to touch and pinch lightly. Pain seems to be isolated to glans, even urethra tube for span of glans. I did notice a white dot visible just inside urethra opening. Noticed about 3 weeks ago. I used to be very active and work out all the time but this has almost immobilized me. I find the best time is if i haven't moved for awhile and right after waking up...seems to get worse as day goes on...more chance of irritation and rubbing? Help. I have been taking Cranberry pills, Centrum, Vitamin e, Selenium, Zinc, Saw palmetto, naproxen. Also, been putting Thera Neem Leaf and Oil on several times a day. I am at about 2.5 weeks and thought i was getting better but now i think i am at a plateau. I just want to feel normal again! What i wouldn't give to have back the times when i could go through a day without paying any attention to downstairs!

Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 03:26 PMJosh, your pain seems very similar to mine. I've had my pain for 14 months now and it's driving me nuts. I have had irritation on the tip of my penis near the opening and the tip (especially the edge of the head) feels very raw lke the nerves are exposed. It's also painful to squeeze the top 1 inch of my shaft as well. Plus I have modertate buring on urination. I have ruled out mycoplasmas (as you should too) and all my urine and semen cultures are clean so no infection seems to be present. I have tried neuromuscular therapy using the principles of Dr. Wise at the National Pelvic Pain Center but have gotten no relief. Since, SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) came on aobu the same time as all these symtoms after taking 2 months of CIPRO, I am exploring a connection to irritated afferent nerves in proximity to my intestines (since I have been diagnosed with moderate intestinal permeability). There is a doctor, Dr. Michael A. Pezzone who has done studies on CPPS being caused by "cross-talk" between nerves in the enteric nervous system and the bladder. Pain in the bladder will refer pain to the tip of the penis and so will pain in the Psoaz muscle in your lower abdomen. My theory is that the toxins leaking from my "intestinal permeability" is irritating either my Psoaz muscle or bladder which is referring pain to my penis. So, if I focus on repairng my gut I'm hoping this will help my pelvic pain. If that doesn't work, I'm pretty much resolved to the fact that maybe toxins embedded in my bladder lining after taking CIPRO for such a long time and that my bladder lining is damaged. In this case I would have no other option but to try taking Elmiron and perhaps Elavil for the pain (this is a common treatment for Interstitial Cystitis sufferers). And, one last thing I may try is an antifungal since I have had some candida problems in the past (all tests now are negative), namely oral thrush from the Cipro (which has caused burning toungue similar to the pain I feel when I urinate).
Hope this help

What a relief to find others with the same problem.

Saturday, February 09, 2008 at 09:27 AMAfter reading this forum I am coming to the realization that I maybe having prostate related issues. I have been suffering various symptoms for a few years now. I will be going to the doctor next week to discuss my latest symptoms. I am only 38. So I never thought to consider that this may be a prostate problem.
My symptoms started very subtly and intermittently so I never gave them much thought. You learn to adjust and move on. For example, beginning about 4 years ago I found that it was hard to completely stop urinating while standing. I’d have to stand there and wait for all of the urine to dribble out. I adjusted by sitting and urinating. That seemed to help control it. So I adjusted and moved on.
Within the same 4 years I can count maybe 10-12 times where I would awake with an incredible cramp like pain up in my groin/anal area. I thought it was some kind of anal cramp or something. Walking and waiting (5-15 minutes) seemed to do the trick. So I adjusted and moved on
Then the scary stuff started to appear. I had what at first appeared to be an STD. Itchy tip. Pain in the urethra. Even eventual discharge. Had a full STD test. All negative. Symptoms when away on there own. That was a really tense and scary experience. I am 38, happily married with 3 kids. If it were an STD it did not come from me so it put some real tension between my wife and I at the time. So I dealt with it and moved on.
6 months ago I woke up to some testicle pain. Ignored it. It (only one testicle) swelled up and became very painful. More STD test. All negative. Dr. ruled it as epididymitis and put me on antibiotics. Cleared up on the 2nd to last dose. So I dealt with it and moved on.
Now to the present. Started having a dull pain and sensitive penis head and dull pain lower in my urethra. Slight burning when I first start urinating but that always gave way to a good stream with no pain. Once I am done urinating i have that slight dull pain at the tip and urethra again. Seems to fade in an out but increased more when I have to urinate or have a bowel movement. I also have a strange urge to “flex” my groin muscles as if I am trying to squeeze out just the last bit of urine. This happens throughout the day.
So now I am really paying attention and can definitely say that these symptoms increase with sitting. Especially prolonged sitting. I get immediate relief from standing and walking. Lying down also helps. I wake in the morning feeling like the symptoms are completely gone! But as soon as I stand there are some subtle signs and sitting brings it all back.
So next week I am off to the doctor. I will make sure that I mention all of this history. Some of which I never thought to mention in the past (sitting to urinate, cramping pain). I will keep the forum posted on my eventual treatment plan and progress. Knowing that I am in the company of other men with the same symptoms I fell strangely optimistic.

Thursday, September 04, 2008 at 07:14 PMYour anal cramping sounds like Protaglia Fujax. It is harmless but painful and there is no known cause. A warm bath often helps as well as anal massage. Symptoms last anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour. Often, the throbbing pains come on at night.
The good news is in most cases, such pain only happens once every few months.
Hope this helps

Saturday, February 09, 2008 at 01:13 PMReading through the torrent of mails on this subject, one cannot
but observe some of the medics are doing their thing -Practising!
Judging from the huge number of public taking anti-acid/proton
inhibitors no wonder our systems are running acid. And whilst the
peeing equipment is by nature is designed to stand acid conditions,
just possibly many of us are far too high in that department.
Incidentally before I go off proton inhibitors -there is a warning from recent research that taking these drugs can open us up to serious
bacteria infections - especially when surgery is to be performed.
But back to our red noses - Some correspondents have drawn attention
to the anti-bacterial properties of cranberry juice. The reports look promising - Hence still on that bacteria theme, try Aloe Vera Gel.
Test it first on the inside of your upper arm, if OK, repeat on your
red member. AV has been used for some 2000 years and besides
the rejuvenating qualities, it is smoothing. 99.9% used on our
colleagues.
I'm not a medic, don't sell the stuff but recently a seriously ill
colleague took my advice to treat her slingles with AV gel. Amazing
results. Sadly she was in bad trouble because, with shingles, again a nerve end problem. Speed of treatment is essential.
The diagnosis was wrong at first, it was thought to be an eye infection.
Source of original idea -Canadian research.
Finally test it at your own risk, it works for this guy.
Only use externally just like any skin cream.
Good luck guys - watch the soap too, some formulations can cause trouble.

Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 11:27 AMI had a cycstoscopy done, they numbed up the path leaving a stiff Qtip with goo on it in the little guy for a few minutes (weird but not painful), the scope was bigger than I expected but didn't hurt until he got to my prostrate. Worse pain I ever felt...until hours later when the numbing meds wore off. I pee'd battery acid one drop at a hellish time for days. Very bad idea. Wish I never had it done. No pain meds worked on this.
I'm no doctor but maybe its just that all that bike riding is causing your little general to rub or get abused in some way. Maybe your doc can suggest a little Neosporin or something topical on the tip. Maybe don't ride until this passes. Sensitive to a laundry detergent? Sexual partner? I've had this a few times and it always went away on it's own. Wish you luck.

Worried T.O Bits
Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 07:08 AMHello All
I have much the same symptoms ( irritation at tip and sometimes deeper) , however when I look inside the tip of my penis I notice a white cloudy looking infected area, all of my STD tests have came back negative, (3 cotton buds & 4 urine tests), I noticed this around 18months ago, have tried Canesten and has 7 days 100mg doxy and 10 days 200mg doxy, but its still there.
As Im sure is the same with all of you, the anxiety this is causing me is horrific, I have decided to bite the bullet and get the urethral camera inspection at my own cost ($2500), should note that the wife has no symptoms whatsoever !
I have read about ureaplasma and the fact that this is not tested for in standard STD tests and was wondering if it could be this ? urologist said that the doxy would have got rid of this ?
Hope you guys can help

Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 11:49 PMI just started with this same problem and was trying to find some data on it myself.
My case is similar but different and after reading a number of responses many are similar but some are slightly different too. A little over a year ago I had a kidney and pancreas transplant and so far so good. One odd thing is that they drain the new pancreas into the bladder which causes a lot of irritation. The enzymes it produces has caused a small ulcer and my urine is a guess the right word to use...caustic. I take sodium bi-carb to tame the acidity and I still am on a small dose of prednisone too.
I had a bout with rejection so they pulsed me with a large dose of steroids and put me on a higher dose of prednisone for awhile. I noticed right away a pain on urination in the area of the prostrate. I kept telling my Dr, but he didn't seem too concerned. To me it was a concern since it hurt like the dickens. It felt like someone was tying my urethra in a knot and I couldn't sit down for quite awhile after peeing.
As the prednisone was tapered down the pain started to subside which was good. But I noticed a slight increase in urination at the same time. A couple weeks ago for a separate problem he took me off oral phosphorus to solve another problem and told me to make it up with cheese and dairy. About that time I started in with this problem with a red tip and more burning on urtination and now more recently some incontinance and leakage. Just as descrived by other's my penis seems full of urine all the time and any movement is worrysome. I am urinating nearly hourly to avoid any problems. The tip is red and at times it's painful even when it touches my underwear.
I saw a urologist last week who also didn't seem to concerned, but as of today it's getting worse. I did have a vlood test and no infection was found, all my labs seem normal.
I am thinking now about one post telling of dairy increasing his problems. And another telling of getting prednisone to alleviate this problem. I am guessing I may be seeing a rebound from getting off of the steroids. I will try some cranberry and I have some anitfungal I can try externally too.
I was supposed to get a cysto while at the urologist last week but as I said he didn't seem to concerned. So armed with this I will talk to my Dr again and see about getting back to the urologist for the cysto. I have had one and can concur they hurt like the heck although they told me it didn't. Even afterwards while cringing in pain, they told me it didn't hurt, yeah right... Remember my urine is nasty to begin with. There is something for it though that helped a bit. It turns your urine a dark amber. It has an iodine composition and the name was something to the effect of ???pyridene??? It got rid of the most severe pain.
Armed with this I wil go back to mt Dr and see what he can do. I'll keep you posted.

Monday, February 18, 2008 at 12:05 AMI found the name of the medicine for the post cysto pain. It's called Pyridium. Just make sure you wear dark colored underwear, it turns your urine a dark color and it stains. It works by coating the lining of the urethra helping relieve the pain. Hope this helps.

Friday, February 22, 2008 at 02:19 AMprobably just that... irritation. Maybe some bacteria or yeast, but unlikely.
give yourself, and your penis, a break. Take it easy on the masterbating. If you do, wrap your junk in a warm washcloth afterwords.
take into account that a lapdance with heavy grinding can be the equivalnt of many more pounds of pressue on your penis than it can handle... and for a somewhat extended period of time.
good luck.

Sunday, February 24, 2008 at 08:57 PMSo I have been on the cranberry extract and juice for awhile now and did find some relief with it, but certaintly no cure. I definitely have notice a direct correlation with drinking alcohol. Like I said on my earlier post I am only 23, needless to say I still go out and get pretty drunk with my friends. On the nights I get totally hammered the following day is miserable as far as the penile pain, and the tip seems to be the most red and inflammed those days. Does anyone have any idea what the correlation could be?

These are all things that will irritate the hell out of your prostate.
Give them all a rest. Add some zinc (in pill form) twice a day and some vitiman C (2000-3000mg per day) to your cranberry.
And lay off all the irritants. You have to give your body sometime to heal.

prostatitis or herpes? can prostatitis come and go untreated

Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 12:27 PMthree months ago i had homosexual sex. unprotected oral, but he used a condom for anal. within a week i had all the typical prostatitis symptoms. of course i went to the doctor for std tests which all came back neg. no test for herpes or hpv was done as the doctor said they would be inconclusive anyway. after about three weeks my symptoms subsided. I was fine for about a month. About a week after another instance of anal sex my symptoms gradually returned and have been raging now for about two and a half weeks. I guess my question is, can prostatitis come an go like this, or is this a clear sign of herpes? its confusing because I've had none of the "typical" signs of herpes.

My urethra has become very sensitive, although it comes and goes. Have been to 2 MD's, 2 Dermatologists, and 1 Urologist only to find nothing. He said it could be HSV, but doesnt think so, but didnt do a test as there was no sore/the tests tend to be inaccurate anyway.

Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 08:52 AMI have had similar symptoms as those described above for the past 24 months, but i'm getting better quickly. I completely stopped drinking alcohol after new years eve, stopped drinking caffine, stopped eating nuts, keep masturbation to a minimum (every other day), bought a urine ph test kit off amazon.com to see if my urine was acid. It was very acid urine (around 5 ph) so I stopped eating as much meat and started mixing 4 tablespoons of baking soda in water and drinking it every day that got rid of the "hot urine" feeling. My urine ph is around 7.5 ph now and I feel much better. Now I just have to be careful not to aggrivate things during bowel movements and masturbation. I also found that putting an ankle sock over my twig and berries and wearing briefs reduces the friction that was causing some of the swelling. I am on a diet of oatmeal, fresh fruits, and caffine free drinks. In the last 2 1/2 months I have gone from feeling really bad to functioning normally. I have resolved to continue this regimine for the rest of the year and hopefully I will get back to normal. I went to my Dr. 5 times and my urologist 2 times they didn't help much. My Dr. gave me Cipro for a month and my urologist told me to take lots of ibuprofen (800mg a day). The Cipro actually reduced inflammation more than the ibuprofen! Don't do like I did and try to ignore it for almost 2 years. Change your diet and Drink Baking Soda! Don't drink alcohol in any form I have tried wine, liquor, beer, all bad! I hope this helps somebody.

Friday, March 21, 2008 at 02:18 PMAll the same symptoms, all the doctors and antibiotics. I had this crap since October. I am 42. In February I had an appointment to see the urologist. About a week before the fingerjam visit, I started taking Forslean. I remember sitting there in the waiting room with almost no pain and I felt I should just cancel the appointment but then the nurse called me in. To make a long story short, I got my symptoms back within two days with stuff leaking out my yang for a week and sore for almost two. I think I'll opt for the psa blood test next time. He said everything felt normal, whatever that means. I stayed on Forslean and by the time my yang healed, my insides felt like they did too. The soreness of my lower back and legs was no more, the feeling of pain in between my legs too. I think the Forslean worked for my prostate infection, but I still had redness and burning after urination. And sometimes it would hurt inside my penis like a sore muscle pain. I started taking Pau D' Arco and Neem. Two weeks later the pain is going away inside, but I still had redness and burning after urination. Then I tried Neomycin Sulfate and diaper rash cream together and that seems to work. It's only been a week with the creams. I tried the diaper cream by itself for a few days and it only took away the burning. The redness was still there till I decided to use the Neomycin Sulfate too. I put on the neo first then the diaper cream over it. I don't mix them, the diaper cream is a coating for the neo. I would say this is the number one thing to do for the pain and redness. The results are fast. After having this crap for months I feel almost 100% better than a week ago and I would say to anyone who has this problem to try this. I know what it's like to be mentally consumed with this whatever you want to call it.

Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 10:57 PMOk, I have these same symptoms. Mine started after having sex with escorts to be honest. About 1 year after to be exact. Same urination and feelings in the penis. Now I have presented with folliculitis. Been tested for all std's even following 1 year of possible exposure just to be sure. All med doctors and uro I have resolved to be idiots because they ALL said nothing was wrong with me and it was all in my head. Now I proved them wrong when my derm biopsied an itchy bump from these bumps I have been getting lately and the official diagnosis of the bump was folliculitis. I decided to talk to natural doctors instead of med doctors and they all say I have a major fungal infection. A fungal infection is very hard to rid of and you MUST completely change your diet and also take many anti fungal vitamins. You basically have to kill and then starve the fungus. I am a very picky eater and love my sweets so I have a long road to recovery... By the way the other thing that I was told was possible is the effects of HPV because there is not enough research on how HPV affects the male and tests for HPV in men... But this was an idea from my URO so I don't know how much we can trust that. Multiple people told me the fungal infection is the cause. But I will let you know if I find a resolve

Same symptoms, have clues as to waht is happening

Friday, April 04, 2008 at 12:31 PMHello,
I am 28, very sexually and physically active man. I have had unprotected homo sex. At the same time I started taking Creatine and Nitric Oxide to build more muscles and reduce body fat. I do walk/run more than 10-12 miles per week and exercise a lot (5-7 times a week).
In february of 2008 I noticed that my right ball started hurting me. Also, the tip of my penis got red and some red spots appear on the head of penis(come and go). I got tested negative for all std including IGG Herpes 2.
HOWEVER, I do have regular herpes (as most of us do, about 95% of population). I suspect that my redness that comes and goes might be caused by herpes 1 that was transmitted to my genital area. I tried clotrimazol, seems to work, and anti yeast cream, usually used by women. All of it seems to work, but not consistently. I also did biopsy of my penis for HPV, nothing was found.
These are possible reasons for the problem:
1) Active exercise and movement causes friction. I changed boxers to briefs, my ball is not hurting that much anymore, however redness persists. I stopped drinking all supplements altogether.
2) SWEAT/MOVEMENT RELATED : I noticed that everytime I sweat at the gym my penis get those red spots, so I try to keep it dry at all times by bringing clean underwear at the gym. However sometimes I wake up in the morning and I see redness on the right side of the tip of my penis sometimes, not significant, but enough to freak out someone who had it all normal months ago.
3) REGULAR HERPES 1 (MAKE SURE THAT YOUR DOCTOR TESTED YOU FOR REGULAR HERPES 1 TOO, NOT JUST FOR GENITAL HERPES 2) : There are not many conclusive studies as to the effect of regular HSV-Herpes 1 in genital areas. Some doctors admit though that regular herpes can get to your penis if you were perfomed oral sex etc. Once there, it will leave some temporary reminders, similar to the ones we have. Excellent suggestion is to use L-lysene (herbal remedy against herpes) in this case. Although Herpes 1 can provide some discomfort but will eventually become very minor and the outbreakes will occur a couple of times per year and then be gone completely. If this is the case, then most of us could easily get it. Interestingly enough, my ex and I were both tested positive for Herpes 1 -IGM was around 4.1, well above 1, which is borderline of positive and negative. If this is a case, no worries guys, most of us have it. Just relax, now it comes with stress, and try to eat fish or other products that contain a lot of L-lysene, or buy the pills in the store.
4) Infections. These are bacterial infections of different kinds, most of which might not even be known to modern medicine. Once your penis is inserted in someone elses vagina or anus, there are million bacterias that can cause this redness. Especially with anal sex, since it has so many bacterias. Suggestion here is to use clotrimazole cream for two weeks, but it did not work for me.
5) When I went to std clinic, she showed me pictures with similar problem than mine. She said that since I am uncut and do a lot of exercise, I get these red spots on tip of my penis and that it is nothing to worry about. True, but I exercised for 2 years intensively and noticed this abnormality only in February, which coincided with unprotected sex with the guy and using Creatine and Nitric Oxide.
Good luck, my email is: mosru80@yahoo.com, can send you photos of mine or exchange thoughts, especially if you have experience in homo sex or anal hetero sex.
thank you

Sunday, April 06, 2008 at 07:41 AMSame symptoms as all of you. Same nil diagnostic reports.
I used everything and sucked down a lot of anti-biotics at doctor's recommendation. I used Canesten cream which provided modest reduction in symptoms but I still seemed to have uretheritis. I
I, like others here, drew the conclusion that it may be related to some external irritation. I closely examined myself with no obvious physical clue. But I did feel that I did have some localised irritation on the foreskin, although it was not noticeable.
To cut a long story short I started using a hydrocortisone (such as Hyrdrozole). I have had an AMAZING improvement. I had an immediate sense of relief followed by a marked improvement. I have now been using it for 6 days and can report a 99% improvement in both external and intenal irritation. I have no idea whether the internal irritation was referred from the external irritation but I do know that I have got results. I felt that it was my obligation, as someone who has been casting around for answers, to share this with you all. I hope that it helps you too.
I have been applying the cream to the head, shaft, base and testicular area.

MEN, PLEASE READ THIS...

Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 10:18 AMFirst, I am NOT a doctor and although very educated, I'm NOT sure how accurate my information is. I'm just somebody like yourselves, who is trying to better understand all of this to help everyone out.
After reading every single one of these comments posted, it's safe to say that almost everyone here is sharing the same symptoms and experiences.
- Neg. STD tests (and no explanation)
- Red, and slightly shiny tip
- numbing in the lower shaft of the urethra- pressure behind the bladder
- prostate pain or pressure- urgency to urinate frequently
- lower back pain
- slight fever
- exhaustion
- constipation
- higher count of white blood cells
After doing some research of my own,
I believe I'm onto what we're all looking for...And to help us better understand what we're looking at,
please open a new tab or browser, to see a picture of our male anatomy:http://healthcare.utah.edu/healthinfo/images/ei_0327.gif
What we're experiencing is an obvious infection in the prostate.
Which is why the STD tests are reading negative.
Our white blood cell count is higher, because our body is fighting bacteria that's not suppose to be there. This battle going on inside our bodies is what leaves us feeling tired, exhausted, and some of us with a slight fever or hot/cold chills. It is important for us to help our bodies fight this, by eating properly right now!!
Please review the picture as you read this, so you can have a better understanding for what I'm about to explain...
This bacteria has enlarged our prostates.
As you can see the prostate is central to everything that we're experiencing.
An enlarged prostate would cause a constipation feeling and an irritation in our bladder, from the prostate pushing against it; which is also why there's an urgency to urinate frequently.Sometimes this is caused by a sexually transmitted organism, such as chlamydia. However, most cases are caused by infections that are not sexually transmitted. These infections CAN'T be passed on to sexual partners.
Antibiotics may not get into the prostate gland well. Small amounts of bacteria might "hide" in the prostate and not be killed by antibiotics. Once you stop taking the antibiotic, the infection can get bad again. If this happens, you might have to take antibiotics for a longer period of time to prevent another infection.
Also...
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, such as ibuprofen (two brand names: Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (one brand name: Aleve), and hot soaking baths may help you feel better. Some men get better by taking medicines that help the way the bladder or prostate gland work.
Now, many have mentioned drinking alcohol...
this will dehydrate you.
...Along with coffee, soda, etc.
How has everyone been with drinking water lately?Do you excersice or do a lot of physical activity?
And your diet, how have you been eating lately?
Chances are, that right now our bodies are ACIDIC and DEHYDRATED.
Did you know that this is the PERFECT environment for bacteria? This may be whats causing the pain at the tip of the penis and numbness in the lower shaft of the urethra. What could be useful is helping your body to become more alkaline, which is the complete opposite of being acidic.
...detoxing.
Pay CLOSE attention to your DIET.
Right now we need to rid our body of bacteria, strengthen our immune systems, and in the mean time.... not irritate our prostates!!
If you masturbate frequently, remember... this will irritate your prostate.
I'd say, help yourself out and cool it down for a good while!
Here are some things that would help or hurt,
and I've put into "YES" and "NO" groups for us...YES:
- Drink LOTS of water
- Eat HEALTHY: vegetables, fruits, dried fruits, whole grains, etc.
- Take vitamins. some of these may help:Beta Sitosterol
Saw Palmetto
Amino Acids- Glycine, Alanine, Glutamic acid
Zinc Citrate
Selenium
Vitamin D3
Vitiman C
- Colloidal Silver Spray
NO:
-No sweets, sugar, or artificial sweeteners
-No coffee, soda, artificial juices, or alcohol
-No Milk or dairy productsRight now I'm waking up and immediatly drinking a large glass of water!
I'm drinking PH balanced water, which is alkaline.
(google search: "Alkaline Water" to learn more.)
I'm also taking 4 sprays of "Colloidal Silver", which is...Wikipedia: Colloidal Silver -
"Concentrations of colloidal silver at 5 parts per million or higher have been found to kill numerous infectious bacteria. Prior to 1938, colloidal silver was widely used by physicians as a mainstream antibiotic. It was produced by pharmaceutical companies under various names, including Protargol. But the electro-colloidal production process was costly and the pharmaceutical industry developed fast-acting, less-expensive sulfa drugs and penicillin. Colloidal silver has been approved by the EPA as a disinfectant for hospitals and medical centers."
I hope some of this helps you guys!
God bless!

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 12:55 PMActually I think what a lot of you guys may have is IC (interconstitial cystitis). I was diagnosed early on with acute prostatits, which is caused by IC. After waking up out of the blue one night having to pee every 15 minutes and feeling a burning sensation (to which I wanted to bash my head in), I agreed to go to the doctor. They started me out with all of these antibiotics, but nothing worked. I mean they worked for the time I was on them, but then it went right back to the same ol' same ol'. Then I went to a specialist and he ran several urological tests. I went through the cystocope, hyperdistention, etc. until finally I was told I have IC. Basically it's an incurable disease that wrecks your life. You really need to look it up on the net and maybe find a specialist to see if you have this. Otherwise you may just keep having to go back to the doctor again and again.

Urethra irritation - tip of penis (opening) is red
by IRGeniusFriday, August 24, 2007
I am a bicycle rider and recently began having issues. The very opening of my penis is red and irritated. I also have some incontinence all of a sudden. My urologist did cipro - then ibuprofen 800mg - neither of which changed symptoms. There has definitely been a change. ...
