Hey everyone, I thought I would share my surgical experience just having had a radicla prostatectomy...first my condition prior to surgery...starting experiencing symptoms of an enlarged prostate 3 years ago...mostly going 3-4 times per nite...got on Flomax but still had no relief until I started to take 2 flomax per day...then symptoms subsided...had biopsy in Dec 08 and cancer was evident...PSA was 3.0 and Gleason was 6...cancer evident...read several books on PS and decided on the radical prostatectomy surgery via the Da Vinci machine...surgery was a piece of cake...only 2 hours...felt fine in recovery room and that nite...next day felt obdominal pain but pain meds took care of that...left hospital the day after surgery and have been home ever since...took another day to have bowel movement to start eating soft food...but the recovery has been very easy considering or as compared to my lamonectomy I had last year (L2-L5)...that surgery was a bitch and took 4 months to recover from...only issues I have now are a bloated or distended stomach and loud intestinal sounds from my stomach...they say this is normal...occasionlally i have stomach pain but it subsized within minutes...I get the cathator out this Wed and will continue to recover...so far my recovery has been like a bad case of flu...my experience has been made much easier due to my wife being by my side every step of the way...I am blessed
