A few months ago, my Grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Luckily, prostate cancer is not the most grave of the various forms of the disease. Because prostate cancer develops slowly, although he is 87, he will be ok. Like all cancers, the key is early detection. He ignored many signs and symptoms that should have prompted him to get checked out, especially considering the high risk age group he falls under. I think taking responsibility to schedule regular check ups is a point that cannot be emphasized enough. While we all find ourselves immersed in our day to day lives, we must remember that life is fragile. I know Grandpa believes that now more than ever.
