I was plagued with Prostatitus for 20+ years, I was prescribed and took a train load of cipro, levequin, flowmax and proscar. The latter 2 did nothing! I changed uro's annually in hopes of fixing my problem, nothing worked.

At the ripe old age of 59 I had my first colonoscopy and it showed an abnormal amount of divertcula. I was scheduled with a colon rectal surgeon that ordered a ct scan. ( I had explained to the dr. about the prostatitus I was plagued with) Upon receiving the ct scan results the dr called me at home to inform me that my prostate problem was probably Diverticulitus... 13" of my colon had fallen into the pelvic area and was resting on my prostate and had been there so long it appeared to be rotted. I scheduled for surgery immediately. When the surgeon paid his first visit to me in the hospital, he said,"I would be 99.9% positive you never had a prostate problem"!!!That was over a year ago and I haven't had a problem since...Moral...Ask uro for a ct scan, especially if nothing else is working.  Good Luck
