I was patient of HTN, CAD, Angina, as per diagnoses by a Cardiologist
In Jun, 2005.when I was 58 years. I was also feeling urination difficulty
And in May, 2006, I consulted an Urologist, in ultrasound test of abdomen
& Pelvic following impression was given:-
1. Small acrogenic kidney consistent with renal parenchyma disease.
(Right kidney size 7.2 x 3.7 cm and left 8.1 x 4cm.)
2. Left renal cortical cysts.
3. Pre voiding Urine 400 ml. and post voiding 10 ml.
4. Normal urinary bladder, Prostate measured within normal limits.
The urologist in addition to cardiac medicines prescribed, Tab.
Ciproxin 500 mg 1 + 1 and Tabs. Xatral SR 5 mg 1 daily and
referred me to a Nephrologist for the kidney treatment. Who diagnosed
Chronic C.T.L, HTN and Chronic renal failure. Since then I remained
Under treatment by several Nephrologists.
In November,2008, the result of subsequent Ultrasound was as under:-
Rt.kidney size 9.3x4.4 cm, Lt 9.3x4 cm. Both show increased parenchyma
echogenicity. 3.6x3.3 cm cyst in left kidney. Prostate normal limit 3.6x
3.2x3.2 cm (24 gms) & urinary bladder normal.
In December, 2008 a renal DPTA Scan test was taken. Findings following:-
Both kidneys show reduced tracer perfusion, both are poor but measurable
and non-homogeneous cortical tracer uptake. On serial views there is sluggish
tracer excretion even after lasix injection. Background activity remains high
throughout the study. IMPRESSION. Bilateral poor renal functions (Renal
Failure pattern)
At present I am taking following medicines:-
Injection Espogen 2000 IU ( rh Erythropoietin rinn) 3 in a week
Cardiolite (Atenolol) 50 mg One daily, Sofvask (Amiodpine Besylate)
5 mg 1+1, Cardura I daily, Ostum (Calcium+Vit D3 one daily,
Zyloric (Allopurinol) one daily. Lansoprazole 30 mg. Kayoxylate
Powder 30 gm for 15 days 1+1 gm daily.
Inj. Espogen injected in skin and for the last 2 years I am taking.
My recent Clinical blood tests are as under:-1. Urea= 168 mg/dl
2. Creatinine= 7.30 mg/dl 3. Calcium=8.2 mg/dl
4. Sodium= 144.7 mEq/I 5. Potassium=5.10 mEq/I
6. Chloride=113.8 7. H.B = 11.5 G/Dl 8. Uric Acid= 8.3 mg/dl
Blood Pressure = 150/80
I am 63 years old, a retired Govt. servant, my pension can hardly
