Are B Vitamins bad for prostate health?

Hi there,

I have a question regarding my 86 year old dad who has very bad peripheral neuropathy, as well as an enlarged prostate (he recently had a second prostate surgery). I bought him a supplement which is supposed to be a great help for peripheral neuropathy - it's a combination of Benfotiamine, a fat-soluble version of Vitamin B1 and Methylcobalamine, a form of vitamin B12. My dad says he thinks that he can't take B vitamins because they can cause a blockage of the urethra or some sort of prostate problems, but wanted me to check if this information is correct. I would really appreciate any information regarding this because his neuropathy is getting so bad he can barely walk and he's falling down so often, I'm afraid he's going to break something. We really want to try the neuropathy supplement to see if it can help him even just a little.

Thank you so much,

Karen
