blood in semen six months after prostate cancer treatment

I am 56, had external beam radiation and high dosage brachytherapy for prostate cancer. Immediately following had blood in semen, but it has been 6 months and the blood is recurring. Why?

Hi JC,

According to the Harvard Health Publications, there are many causes for blood in semen, most of them not serious. You can read that article here. Dr. Jay Motola also wrote several articles about blood in the semen. You can read one of them here. There are also others who have experienced similar issues and have gotten advice from other users. Paul Durham had been experiencing blood after sex and told about his experience here.

I am 59 years old and have the same problem after having the same treatments and after the same period of time. What if anything have you found out after you posted this question?
