Can any one help with advise. My Dad (83) went thru prostate cancer last year . .he's good now (praise God) but its been over 15 months since his last lupron injection and he is STILL having hot flashes. He told me the other day he was on fire. They come regularly between 5 - 6:30 AM. He goes into sweats during the day brought on from trivial stuff . . . He's depressed, fatigued during the day, doesn't sleep well at night and is simply miserable. To top things off he's blind from macular degeneration. Please . . .any thoughts as my heart is breaking for him. A loving daughter

Dear Daughter:
I am not a doctor. My dad has been treated with injections of Lupron for 2 years. (With almost a year off in between.)
I find it interesting that he is having severe vision problems, when you say your dad has macular degeneration.
My father does not have any history of eye problems and has had regular eye check ups, now they are saying he has "band keratopathy". Which there is treatment for.
He does not suffer from hot flashes and has been very active. He is usually cold, and he is a skinny guy too. Maybe it is a combination of drugs interacting? Perhaps an antidepressant. (Which can give someone that crawling feeling.)
I hope he can get some help for this. Read all you can, it really helps.
