HI,
My father had radiation for prostate cancer-seeds implanted, and he is now left with half a bladder.
He is in constant pain. The radiation zapped his prostate, along with his bladder and he was told by his urologist that he has half of his bladder gone and no control/function- something to these words, half the bladder function left, with no control. He never knows or feels when he is to void.
He has had bowel problems too, constant diarreha, and wears diapers now 24/7. I feel so badly for him.
Is this something normal that happens with prostate radiation-destroying the bladder too? Kindly let me know, if anyone can respond- knowing any information to my questions.
Thank you. Kim

I ask following questions because my husband age 59 was considering doing Brachytheraphy, seed low dose radiation. My research did not find any major problems with seeding in fact it is listed a low risk.
How old is your father?
Where did he have his done?
Did he have external radiation along with the seeding?
Was it High dose radiation?
