At the age of 51 I was diognosed with Prostate cancer, (albeit I turned 52 a month later). My PSA reading was 48, I had a very aggressive tumor, and was told that if I was lucky I would have about 3 to 4 years to live.  I can assure you this was very scary news, and no doubt there are many of you out there who have received similiar news.  I am now 57 yrs of age and I'M STILL HERE.  I have 6 monthly checks and my PSA reading at the moment is 0.08.  My Doctor is surprised I'm still here, and although he won't tell me I'm cured, he says because of my PSA readings being the same for about the last 2 years I should consider myself as having a cure and to keep my fingers crossed.  The treatment i have had since diognosis has been 6 and a half weeks of radiation. This was given to me approx. 6 months after diognosis. The reason for the delay was because of industrial problems at the Hospital.  I am at the moment fit and healthy and put this down to a very positive mind and health supplements I have been taking since diognosis. I have a daily intake of, Shark liver oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Selenium, Zinc, Garlic supplement all consumed with a large glass of Tomato juice which is all very beneficial to the prostate.  Also when awake at night in the early hours of the morning especially in the first 2 years after diognosis and one was worrying which one can't help but do, I would engage a thought process that I imagined the cancer leaving my body and at the same time i was being cured by a heavenly body. I know to some this might sound a bit silly, but it certainly worked for me and gave me peace of mind.  And I've got to say, I am still here and most definitely thankful to be so.
