I wondered if anyone thought that maybe ,just maybe, the problems they get with micturition [peeing] etc were related to a vasectomy they have had and were inter related with prostate problems. I know the medical profession [as my own doctor does ] will deny any connection but you fellow sufferers what do you think?.

Funny you should ask this, I just had a vasectomy four weeks ago, at the three week point, I developed prostatitus. Of course, like you said, the doctor said it had nothing to do with the vasectomy. Plus, I am still having problems.

Hi Greg,

Hope your feeling better,I had my vasectomy over 12yrs ago, and have had nothing but trouble for the past two yrs, if you want to tell me your symptoms and share your experience with me I will with you..The suffix 'itis' denotes infection as in apendicitis, colitis and meningitis etc..etc..

Thanks

Ray

Other than a lot of bruising, I really didn't have many problems from my vasectomy until three weeks out. I began to get achy and feverish and then much pain and difficulty urinating. My physician said it was prostatitis and gave me an antibiotic to take for ten days. It took several days for the symptoms to subside. But now that I am finished taking the antibiotic, I still have major pain when ejaculating. When urinating, I still don't have the force or control that I had just before the vasectomy. I really don't know what is going on. Heard of any symptoms like these?

Perhaps these symptoms are normal, I had bruising pain and a right miserable time when I first had a vasectomy. Its  now so long ago I cant remember how long it took to clear up, but not long.It maybe your symptomology will clear up, your erection will return i don't know, but its best to remain optimistic.I think I had better not tell you how I suffer it may well implant a seed of doubt in your head as to 'what you have to come' ,suffice to say I was a senior nurse  before I retired, now when I visit the docs all I get is 'you ' should know better.I suffer in silence most of the time grin and bear it as they say, but sometimes its hard to bear. There is a book entitled 'Vasectomy' 'don't fix what is not broken' I forget the author but its available on the net as a download or buy in book form.

What were your reasons for having a vasectomy? I had mine because my wife did not want to bother with the birth pill or condom's etc she mistakenly thought sex would be free and easy now its a case of sex, what is that' as I never bother with 'it' my wife ,well she misses 'it',poetic justice don't you think for someone who kept extolling the benefits of a condom free, pill free life. Tell me please in your reply your age and why you chose to have a vasectomy and if you still wish to hear from me my symptomologies etc I will of course tell you!

Thanks Ray.

I had my vasectomy over 18 years ago and I am wanting to know if some of you men are having the same problems I am having.  My pain comes and goes just on one testicle especially when I sit for a long time.  The pain seems like it is not just the left testicle but all around the left goin area.  Anyone experiencing the same problems?

I had similar issues plus pain at the time of ejaculation in all the pelvic area. All was resolved after going for physical therapy on the pelvic area. Some Urologist recommend other just give you medication.

It is odd to read the post.  It seems I have had problems with non bacterial prostatis ever since having my vasectomy.  It seems it was about three months.  Both my docotor and the urologist say not.  It just seems odd the prostate problems would develop shortly after the procedure.

Hi

You do not say when you had the vasectomy. I presume it was recently? I had mine a long time ago I am thinking maybe twelve yrs or so. I have a chronic prostatitis and a circulatory problem where my penis turns blue it was diagnosed at first as a neuroma and since this first diagnosis it has now been overturned. It is extremely painful and debilitating no doctor has been able to help me I take analgesics for the pain but nothing else...
